On a visit to Houston my son drove us here. How fortunate. Brandon was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The selection of beers is great, many high level beers and a good selection of local brews. My best pick-up was likely a bottle of Straffe Hendrik Xmas Blend, first time I’ve seen it anywhere and that includes in Belgium. Not exactly a cheap place to shop, but a small complaint in the grand scheme of things. I’ll be back, guaranteed.

Kind of an interesting location but that has never bothered me. Taco truck outside which had decent enough food. The selection absolutely blew me away more that 1/2 of the store was singles, bombers and various other size bottles. Brandon was awesome, turns out he spend time living in Minneapolis so we yapped a bit about the Twin Cities. Going back today to grab a few more things and considering now bad that drive is for me says a lot.

Wednesday afternoon visit. Close to downtown Houston, this smallish store is almost devoted entirely to beer. Great selection of Texas beers. Service was very good considering how busy they were. Found a number of new to me breweries. Thought the singles selection was very good. Prices were a bit high. Decent selection of meads and ciders. Glad I made a visit.

Kinda nondescript joint out on the edge of downtown Houston but once you walk in you’ll be in Beer heaven. Hundreds of unique beers from all over the world, lots in the fridge, plenty of locals up near the counter. And glassware too. A small wine section that I barely noticed. Great spot, some of their big imperial stouts command real serious prices but other than that this has to be one of the best bottle shops around.

D&Q The Beer Station offers the best selection of beer in Houston. It is a fairly unassuming, regular - looking liquor store out front, but inside is packed full of beers. The selection is pretty large and diverse. It includes loads of Texan beers from a large range of Jester King to obscurities such as some pickle Berliner Weisse... Plenty of good US breweries and decent international range. I was very restrained when I visited and could have spent way more. Prices seemed reasonable and service was good. A top spot.

Brandon really knows his stuff about local releases and availability and is always quick to point out what is new in the store and help point you in the right direction. Prices are all reasonable and this is the best beer specialty shop in Houston.

Broad selection of local, national and international beer, personally curated by the friendly and knowledgeable owner. I comfortably browsed for half and hour, and came out with a truly great haul. Probably the best beer store in Houston.

Visited early evening on a Tuesday. Located in a neighborhood that has not yet seen the full on gentrification of nearby blocks. The store itself looks like a no frills cinder block liquor store, and the interior carries the same ambiance. However, the enormous selection and the fact that pretty much every beer you would want to buy is available as a single quickly overcomes the ambiance. A truly incredible range of local Texas, national and international craft brands. In particular, the huge range of Jester King beers impressed. Prices were high, though not entirely out of control. Guy working the register was friendly and knowledgeable. Though my experience is limited, this is certainly my top place to buy beer in Houston.

88 = ★★★★ (best in area, a must for locals and visitors)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

This is my favorite beer store in Houston. Always a good selection and Brandon is always more than happy to point out anything new that he thinks I might enjoy. The best part is the selection of single bottles and cans, which is the best in town. Just about everything they carry is available as singles, and if you happen to find a six pack of something that you don’t see in the singles section, Brandon is usually happy to break one up for you. Prices seem pretty average for the area.
