Great selection of beer. Service is on the mediocre/slow side. No idea about the food. EDIT 1: They keep their beer lines clean. They went in behind the distributor (who apparently sucks at cleaning). And cleaned the lines right EDIT 2: Holy crap the service pulled through towards the end. They definitely started out slow. But they pulled it together before I left

This place, at first glance, is pretty cool. Plenty of taps with a good variety of brewers and styles, nice large space, and typically decent service. However, once you go a few times, you will notice the shortcomings. Number one, and the most important: Cleanliness of the tap lines/glassware & freshness of the beer. I have been here multiple times and have noticed that multiple beers are "off" or just outright stale. Additionally, the wait staff is not particularly skilled in the art of craft beer, so they are really not sure when you say something like "this west coast IPA is flat and stale". I’ve actually had them say it tastes just fine, whenI know that they most likely never drink that beer anyways. West Coast IPA is a beer i drink often enough to know when it is not right. This problem is intermittant, which tells me that this place is just being lazy and not cleaning out tap lines when they are changing kegs. This is my main gripe with this place, but is a MAJOR shortcoming. I call this place Dirty Taps. Additionally, I have experienced several mis-labeled beers, and again, the wait staff is totally oblivious to it even when you point it out. Generally, these people don’t know what they are doing and should stick pulling pitchers of Coors Light.

Came here while visiting a friend in Houston. The tap and bottle selection is impressive! Since no one else was in the bar, we sat at the bar with the bartender and tried several beers. She ended up only charging us for 1 beer apiece (we each about about 4 craft beers each) and enjoyed some good conversation.

Best selection on Washington. Lots of good beer on tap. Gets really crowded on weekends and major spillage when trying to maneuver through a crowd with a pint in hand.

Aside from the Sunday afternoon drunks, this cavernous Washington Avenue, Houston, beer barn served up a terrific variety of beers under the guidance of Muir, the bartended who really knows his stuff. Note that you can get the seasonals as well as real ales, the glassware, etc. Recommended for Sundays afternoons before it crowds up.
