82 Nice little place a block or so from Market Square. Handsome beer store with a nice stock of fresh, largely regional stuff. What drew me was the tap list and the easy chairs for sitting. Solidly above average. |
84 Downtown Knoxville is pretty lame. Bottle shops overall are lame. This one is slightly better than Bearden in that it has more beer to choice and build your own six packs. Ok list. Convenient if downtown. |
76 Visited later in the evening on a Friday night. It was fairly calm in here, with just a few folks sitting at tables sipping beers and chatting. They had a great selection of beers in their build your own cooler. I built two six packs, and had I not already hit several beer places, would have enjoyed a beer on tap here. They had some nice local beers on tap. Pricing was good for my six packs. I would recommend visiting this place and would definitely visit again if I were in the area. |
82 I stayed in the hotel next door, so this place was very convenient - otherwise it’s tough street parking or a pay lot. Lots of bottles on the right, bar with a dozen or so drafts on the left. Samplers of 4 or 6 beers available. Owner was very friendly and knowledgeable, and had good recommendations for the beer scene in town. A bit pricey, but they have no competition. I bought a mixed six, nice to see singles. Worth a stop. |
62 Bar, growler store and bottle shop. Good selection of local and regional beers. Can make your six packs out of the coolers - a bit pricey - $15. Cool place. |
78 Small unassuming store front. Selection is very good but not great. The draft prices are very good. The pick-six packs are high, but appear to be the only game in town. Service was great. Really liked everyone there. Overall a nice place to visit while in town. |
70 Nice little place which is essentially a small bottle shop you can drink at. There is a decent mix a six selection and they have a nice selections of taps too. Not a bad place, pleasant suprise on my walk to market square. |
84 This is a cool little beer bar with no food very close to market square. It’s so nice to have a few different good beer options in downtown Knoxville now. The ambiance is sparse, hip and tasteful but during my visit was ruined with what was apparently Lynyrd Skynyrd radio. The bartender was awesome, though. Very friendly and helpful. Beer selection is pretty solid, but not as good as Suttree’s down the way. It looks like it rotates pretty often though. The beer to go selection is fairly expansive and mixed six packs are plausible. Cool joint. |
62 Small place next to the old St. Oliver hotel in downtown. So so selection of beer to go, but unlike Bearden Beer Market, they will let you mix a six. The downside is a mixed six will run you $15.
As a beer bar, the selection seemed good but again you’ll find as good or better selections at the nearby Preservation Pub or out at Union Jack’s. |
80 The staff is energetic and knowledgeable and always have good recommendations for the picky customers. Low-key vibe and good mix of clientele make for a relaxing and enjoyable place to kick back solo or with friends for a good time. |
