Quick lunchbreak visit. Big drinks/liquor store with a room dedicated to beer. Caught in the middle of reorganization and work being done on the street out front, so a bit hard to reach and a lot of boxes stacked in the beer room. Fair collection of mixed Belgian, Dutch and some international craft, local stuff and a few shelves dedicated to (English) ciders. Ticks will be found.

Medium-sized bottle shop with a focus on wine. Relatively small selection of beer with around 200 bottles, most of them from Belgium or small Dutch breweries. Overall fairly standard, a few locals are available, I also saw a few Burnside bombers which were really past their prime (two-year-old IPA’s). Regular prices, friendly and definitely welcoming staff. At least it’s open on Sundays.

Not a bad room of beers here by any means and friendly people working here. The selection doesn’t really have any surprises though with a big focus on the usual Belgians and some local stuff, with the usual prices.

This is mainly a wine shop, but they do have a decent beer selection. Friendly staff, but prices are pretty steep!

With the bierwinkel closed on sunday, I ended up here. Nice place, friendly staff. Not particularly knowledgeable on beer, but they have a nice selection of Dutch micros and Belgian regulars. Some nice finds here.

Now moved, the beer range is a good bit bigger, but it isn’t particularly exciting as selections go. Not sure what market they are aiming for, but BierwInkel shouldn’t have any worries as yet. Re-rated 04/11/14. More Dutch micros represented, and some less common Belgians. Improving.

Visited with eric, when they just opened. Selection will grow bigger. At this time, they had several macros and a couple of micros. The combination of a good selection of wines, together with a decent selection of beers is pretty rare, so interesting to see how it will evolve. Friendly staff, we got a small sampler of wine almost immediately when we entered the store.

These guys are just moving to a new shop around the corner (from Raamsteeg to Korevaarstraat) and that extra space will be used for a big part towards a proper collection of beers by the bottle. Currently around 150, but soon towards 240 different beers, they say. Super friendly staff, although wine is (as of yet) more in their blood than beer is. Some nice stuff can already be found; micros like Emelisse, Rodenburg, De Eem and, of course, Leidsch Bier. Already a nice store, with a slightly different audience than De Bierwinkel has. Keep it up guys!
