compass40204 (5), Louisville, Kentucky does not count - explanation | | November 10, 2009 This is a beer store disguising itself as a grocery store. Or maybe it is a grocery store. Either way, I really don’t buy groceries. Their beer selection is the best in the Highlands, with the possible exception of Old Town. You can’t get mixed 6-packs or growlers, but you can get sushi and a deli sandwich to go. Kinda makes up for it. | | Ryan82SM (26), Louisville, Kentucky | | March 31, 2009 Well, it’s a Valu Market Store. but this store in particular has a pretty good layout and such. Did not need service. Selection is quite surprising, pretty comparable to Old Town, and (almost) everything they have is refrigerated. Trappist (Orval, Westmalle, Rochefort) to be had here, as well as other good Belgian, Canadian (Unibroue) and American (Bells, Dogfish Head) can be found at this location. Plenty of good prices on food, good variety, but I didn’t buy any. Great prices on beer. Large bottles of Avery and Arcadia were under 3 bucks a piece, and their other prices were comparable around town. A good little beer store within a grocer. |
