64 hard place to rate. We visited twice, both instances I had a very different opinion ( the visits were 2 days appart ) .
The place is semi-cosy, has a bit of an Industrial feel, but mostly due to the people workin here. On day 1 it was ok ( extremely slow, bad english, but friendly. ) Not beerconnaiseurs , but enough to do their job. Day 2 it was worse, we were the only people in, so it wasn't that slow. Still friendly, but not up for any chats, and proving to me they were very unknowing with this - truly happened - discution about their stout, that had an EXTREME diacetyl taste. I noted them, on a friendly manner, that the beer had issues, and the issue seemed to be a very clear case of diacetyl. Server told me 'it's normal, it's a stout'. I told him diacetyl isn't an acceptable feature in a stout, he told me 'yeah, but it's without gas'. Anyway, we discussed a bit more - all on a friendly manner - but he kept insisting this is the way a stout by baladin should taste. Either Teo Musso is terrible at brewin, all of a sudden, releasing the most diacetyl forward beer in history, or ( guess what i'm guessing ) the lines aren't clean, and they don't know or care.
The food here was OK. A bit expensive, but not extreme The beerlist is big enough, showcasing many baladins, including some of the rare 'cellar beer's such as Lune and Terre ( in vintages ) and of course some xyuayu's. Prices here for the beer, were very good. sadly enough, not all beers were available as listed on the menu. All and all, I liked this place (thats why I returned ) but better staff and less annoying colors over the walls, could really amp this place up ! |
76 Visited 11.1.18 at lunch time, right as dinner rush was coming to an end. We were seated at the basement, as the well-lit street level was full. Lots of seating options and food menu that we didn't look at. Taps were good, but there were not Lune, Terre and variations of Xyauyu. Service became slow and staff unavailable closer to closing time so we went to pay upstairs. I actually forgot to put it on our map and we bumped into it on our way to Eataly. Worth the visit. |

68 It's not excellent as the one in Rome, it has mainly Baladin beers I thought it was better. |
74 We went there by foot as the place isn’t so far from a metro station. Nice bar that wasn’t crowded on the Sunday evening we visited, only a few people drank beer and has some food in it. They had only Baladin beers on tap so I chose an option I’ve heard about from before. I asked for a sample (cca 10 cl) of an original Xyauyu, a Lune and a Terre, which were all great. Barman was friendly and the service was quite nice as well, but I still missed something, maybe a wider selection. Didn’t try food. |
70 Visited a thursday night around 8, just a few other people there. Seating area to the left as you enter, bar to the right. Stonefloor, wooden tables and chairs, huge rack with Baladin bottles on display at the back. All looked a little run down. About 8 taps and 2 handpumps. Nice selection of tap beers, 3 beers from Stone Berlin and rest Baladin on at my visit. Long bottle list including italian and belgian beers, mostly big bottles. Possible to have a 10 cl sample from i think 5 different Xyauyu variants from bottles, including 2 i havent had. Food was ok, but nothing special and abit overpriced. Prices for beer was fair. Service was a little slow. I highly prefer the Rome location to this. |
76 The food was great, the beer on taps were all too heavy on the alcohol side, but having the Xyauyu and Terre/Lune for digestif is really a great experience. |
