I’m glad I found this place and it’s absolutely on my list of places to return to when I’m in town. I live in Colorado and visit Milwaukee for work on a frequent basis. I was told this place and Honeypie are same owners. Each has it’s own unique style, but equal in their quality of food and selection of beer. Comet seems to be a little more family oriented than Honeypie, but I’d still take my kids to either one.

Stopped in for dinner, smallish tap list with some nice choices. Food wasn’t bad and hit the spot, nice side of town easy walk to nomad and beer world.

Local east side restaurant with a bar hosting a few taps (8?). Food was ok. They are posting their taps on beermenus, so if they randomly have something good, I would return. Sister cafe to Honeypie in Bayview??

Excellent food, with a knowledgeable and friendly yet busy staff. Always crowed but your patience will be rewarded with great food and a solid beer menu to choose from. If a place is always busy it generally means there doing something right and Comet Cafe definitely is. Being in the heart of Milwaukee’s Bohemian East Side the people watching is entertaining as well.

I go to comet fairly regularly, but I always forget that it’s way too damn busy and small. Tap list is usually good, but not amazing. Every once in awhile rarities come along (they have the hook-up with 3f’s). The food is awesome with many vegan options. Parking usually sucks. Service is hit or miss. I recommend going at off-peak hours.

This place was overcrowded on a Monday night when I stopped in and there’s simply not enough seats in the house to keep up with demand. I did not eat but the food looked appealing, at least to my old fatter self. The beer list wasn’t bad, they had 15 or so tap lines filled with mostly micros and a decent bottle list. Since I had no place to sit and the wait was much too long for a Monday, I moved on to emptier pastures after having one pint and dodging waitstaff and customers.

Great food, great beers. Sometimes heavy to one style, but usually switched up weekly.

I enjoyed this place mostly because of its access to where I was staying. friendly environment, though there are ven friendlier ones in the city. a couple of bars and tables, enough room for me but i can see where it can get very crowded on the weekends. Only a handful of taps, and that rarely changes, for example 3 Floyds mild is always on. A good bottle selection, but then again almost everything available in the stores. Reasonable prices. Again, location was the best part of this for me, as well as being reasonable safe part of town.

The food is the real star of Comet Cafe (you have not lived until you’ve indulged in the meatloaf sandwich), but there is a totally impressive lineup of bottled beers, surprising tappers (found a limited-run Moylans here on most-recent visit), and clever drink specials (free bacon with your beer purchase on Sunday nights!). Somewhat crazy clientele on that last visit (even though seated on the restaurant side of the establishment, we could clearly hear two guys in a loud, periodic bar conversation about the merits of the battles for Pork Chop Hill during the Korean War), but that only added to the experience.

Best food in Milwaukee, The beer here is ok but not great. Lots of bottled, but the Draught beer is not that good.
