Augustiner Bierhalle and Restaurant

Classic bierhalle with beer and tourists.

A favorite and has been for me since the late 1980s. A truly large old fashion Bavarian Beer Hall. Food and location are spot on.

"Idiot" hehe. Scisle centrum miasta, generalnie sprawna obslug, ogarniaja. Wybór piw nieduzy, ale klimatyczne miejsce.

Visited this place on a Monday afternoon in April 2019. A large place with a classic interior that was not crowded at all during my visit. The service was ok as was the selection.

Hard to miss this big bierhalle, on the pedestrian walk from the Hauptbahnhof to Marienplatz. Huge, and packed, as you'd expect. Classic beer hall appearance and decor, with Christmas decorations added. The server was rude and seriously overworked. They've got the full spread of Augustiner beers, of course, and some good wine, which is friendly. The prices are good, for Munich, too. This is a must-stop, just for the experience and wonderful, classic German beer.

Very large, classical beer hall with dark wooden interior and an enormous army of waiters and other staff. Efficient but slightly grumpy service. Limited but high class selection.

We came here on 28.1.2017. Large, traditional beer hall, existing since 1829 and located in the center of Munich. Good ambiance, typical Augustiner - dark wooden panels on the walls, a few slightly different furnitured rooms and an open kitchen (they cook Kaiserschmarren at the right rear end, looks great). I had the Curry Wurst instead, which was very tasteful. It is touristic for sure, but has not lost it’s historic soul, as many other places in Munich did. On tap they have Helles, Edelstoff and Dunkel. Pils and Weißbier in the bottle available. Needless to mention the beer (we had Edelstoff) was great. Service was above Munich average. For sure one of the must visit Augustiner places. Top 5 in the city center for me are: Augustiner Keller, Braustuben, Bierhalle, am Platzl and Isarthor. We came back in July 2017 and were sitting in the inner yard at the very end of the restaurant, really a unique beer garden and worthwhile to visit.
