70 Visited in February 2017. Quick stop for a food and a pint. Average place which didn’t make me excited. |
82 Visited once evening Saturday April 30, 2016. This was for the Judge Reception for World Beer Cup 2016, so tap list and food might have differed from a regular night. We were plcenty of judges, so rather crowded, even with the temp tent set up outside. Walkable from downtown, but a bit off the normal tracks for us. Nice fast service, nice tap list. Decent food, though not much to my personal liking. A place I could go back to if close by. |
84 Loved the idea Italian gastropub with a pork themed menu .... has a lounge/bar/restaurant theme nice u shaped bar with a gorgeous copper tap system and open kitchen ... taplist had a nice variety of styles, but no real rarities ... the bottle list has some rare italian brews, but you are gonna pay for them .... the food and service were amazing .... they had an exclusive victory beer on tap that was average and tasty .... Definitely a busy place that got louder as the Saturday night crowd filed in .... grab a reservation and check this place out .. I would definitely go here for a craft beer event, but it is pricey |
82 Pricey but worth it. Great little spot in Philly. A bit noisy but also somewhat intimate. Great service and quite an eclectic menu.
Oh, beer. Yes, a nice selection for sure. Lots of italian imports if you go for that type of thing. Put this place on your list. |
92 After a couple dozen visits it was about time to write a review. Beer selection is very solid. Lots of Italian beers you will find nowhere else in the area, however they aren’t always all that good. Great domestic and local selections as well, including exclusives with Victory, Yards, and other local breweries. Most domestic prices are reasonable but imports are frequently $10+ for a 10 oz pour. Wait staff and bartenders are always friendly and fairly knowledgeable. The food is fantastic, on par with some of the better restaurants in Philly, not just good bar food. Very pig-centric menu and I’m a vegetarian but there are plenty of great items including the gnocchi, mushrooms and veggie burger. |
88 Great place on broad and mount Vernon. Very cool, lounge type restaurant bar with great beer selection and very nice bottles. Always interesting draft menu usually consisting of special brewery released specifically for Alla Spina in addition to a ton of Italian beers. They typically have a selection of the Russian River sours available, and priced very well in comparison to other Philly beer bars. You can sit (and eat full menu) at the bar if you don’t have reservations. Pricing is okay, and service has been great every time I’ve stopped by. Food is very good. You can buy six packs for the kitchen which is an awesome idea. So do it. |
78 Great selection of beer with some pretty good food. |
