| zizzybalubba (68), Elizabeth City, North Carolina | | April 19, 2012 I recently made it in to Bottle Revolution and was certainly impressed. The setting is nice in a newer shopping center in Raleigh just off of Lake Boone Trail. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about all things beer. The selection was very good and even offered a nice selection of taps given there were only 4 of them. Prices were comparable or better to some of the other stores I have visited in the area. Overall, a must visit if you are in or near Raleigh. | | Drake (295), Charlottesville, Virginia | | February 22, 2012 Very nice place. Tons of bottles... American, local, English, German, Scandinavian, and other foreign micros. Absolutely everything is available in singles. In my book, that is a prerequisite for being a "great" beer store. Rarities and unusual stuff. Draft beer is available by the pint for while you are shopping but apparently state law doesn’t allow grower fills. Located in an upscale shopping center. Parking is OK. Prices are reasonable. The owner is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Excellent store and I will be back. | | doboy (19), Morehead City, North Carolina | | February 10, 2012 What a great find in Raleigh. Tucked in off the beaten path, BR is a great find! Thanks Matt!
I love their selection. The knowledge Ted brings to the store is right there if you ask! He’s not a pushy salesman, and makes you feel right at home! 4 Taps are nice, and plenty of good tastings coming up. Kind of hard for me driving back to the Coast!
Looking forward to many years of quick stops and long shopping trips as I journey to the Capital City! | | JCB (120), Durham, North Carolina | | January 8, 2012 Finally stopped in to BR for the first time this week, and as the other reviews indicate it is an absolutely crucial addition to the Raleigh scene. There are several joints I’ve habitually checked in on from time to time over the years, but I have to say that this is the first destination joint I’m aware of. Great selection overall, with tons of seasonals and special, and an impressive locals and imports section (tons of Evil Twin and Mikkeller in particular). Ted is a right-on guy, very helpful and pleasant to chat with. Conveniently located too, right on Lake Boone either on the way in or out of town. | McNuts (1), Raleigh, North Carolina does not count - explanation | | January 5, 2012 Bottle Revolution is a welcomed addition to the triangle beer scene. Ted is a great guy who is passionate about craft beer. The store is very comfortable with wooden shelving and a very nice selection of great beer - no garbage at all. The service is what differentiates Bottle Revolution. BR provides a personal service with great recommendations in a relaxed atmosphere. The Club selections are always very tasty and the communication regarding new selections via email and Facebook is spot-on. Tastings every week, special event, friendly atmosphere. No upcharge on singles bottles, coolers-to-go for tailgating. Once Ted gets the allocations of the bigger, more established stores, my rating would be damn near 100. So make sure to buy the regular Founders and Bells offerings from BOTTLE REVOLUTION. | Thepickett (5), , does not count - explanation | | November 11, 2011 Cool location is way too convenient for my budget and waistline, commuters should love it. Ted is suave, seems to know b-e-e-r. Eclectic assortment, not too huge. I have seen area businesses come and go, but I hope this one is a winner. Joined the Club, looking forward to monthly selections. | | PackPride (10), Raleigh, North Carolina | | October 31, 2011 Really enjoyed my visit to Bottle Revolution. Ted is a very knowledgeable in all the beers that he carries, and if he doesn’t have the beer you are looking for, most likely he can get it for you. The selection is good, but it’s not huge. However, what he does have is all exceptional beer, none of the low-class beer you will find crowding other store shelves. Also, with him being a new store, he is still expanding his beer selection, so I’m sure it is to grow even more in the coming months. | | planbee (35), North Carolina | | October 24, 2011 [ Updated January 29, 2012 ] Updated review on Jan 29, 2012: Ted keeps finding new ways to get more great selections into this place, and now he has 4 taps. - There’s a year of beers club, a multitude of tastings, and all kinds of engaging specials and sales that relate to local events. The space isn’t huge but it is absolutely chock full of amazing beer. Two coolers for growlers and cold stuff in bottles, another cooler for cans. The owner is a great guy who is as enthusiastic and involved with beer as you could want. The selection is growing every week and wonderfully chosen. Prices are right on for the area. |
