Raglan Public House

Swung by on a Monday night, pretty crowded. Came for the food, which was excellent. Around 16 taps, interesting mix of California beers and a few ex-California. Not a beer destination but they take it seriously. Food is terrific, BTW, would repeat just for that.

Happy Hour session on 17th Jan 2018. Decent tap selection, bottles not so interesting for me. Very young clientele, mostly surfer types. First bar I have ever been in and seen a 'skateboard rack' on the wall. New Zealand theme to the food and their flag flying from the ceiling. Liked the vibe and serving lady, beers were fine but came in really thick sided tankards, like glass steins at an Oktoberfest. Corner plot with plenty of outside tables.

Went here a couple times on our visit to ocean beach. The setup is pretty nice with outdoor seating and large windows in front which creates an indoor/outdoor feel. The decor is industrial and modern. The wait staff are friendly and generally fast. They’ve got about 20 taps with a very nice selection of West Coast stuff including Alesmith and Ballast Point. I had a taster with 6 x 4 oz samples for $6 on Monday night. We were told my the waitress that they are somehow zoned in a residential area, so they’re liquor license only allows them to stay open until 11. The food consists of modern American with gourmet burgers and sandwiches (all weed themed). The food is a little steep.
