Wel I really came here for cheap, fresh, local food, but compared to the one on Franklin this WF’s selection was way better. Plus everybody here was way more informative and down-to-earth by comparison. Maady, the beer dude was cool to talk to, so that’s a bonus.

Slightly larger selection of beers than in the California St. branch. Some rarities available here as well (e.g. Firestone Walker XV and North Coast Old Rasputin XIV Anniversary) with quite reasonable prices.

Stopped in while walking to Thirsty Bear. I must say for a Whole Foods this had a very nice selection. Couple of rare brews, but had a massive selection of regional brews both in bombers and six packs. I would hit this in tandem with City Beer and you should be set.

Can’t really give much for service, as no one was around the beer...This place had a great selection, though. Best I have seen for a supermarket: lots of Russian River, Lost Abbey, Jolly Pumpkin, Upright, plus good Belgian imports (Pannepot!). Good prices. Surprisingly interesting.

I hadn’t been to a Whole Foods in ages so I decided to check out the beer selection at this downtown store. Very impressive stock of California microbrews and hard to find beers from around the U.S. and Europe. They have the largest selection of Russian River that I’ve seen in the Bay Area. No Alesmith though, unfortunately. This is also the only place that I’ve seen Old Rasputin XII. The guy in charge of the beer section was very knowledgeable and there was a tasting of canned beers from Oskar Blues Brewery the day I was there. The only negative I can think of is that nearly all of their beers are refrigerated, which may pose a problem if you want to age a bottle.
