72 I've been loyal to Brown Derby for awhile, and I hadn't been aware of this location of Macadoodles in Springfield until recently (there's another Mac in the northern part of the city). Found out this is a pretty good spot that carries some beers BD doesn't. The mixed-sixer aisle is my favorite; pretty wide variety there, including lots of Prairie Artisan, sours, and New England hazy IPAs. Some of those styles aren't my thing, but there's a lot for those who like them. There's also enough of other stuff I don't see much of to keep it interesting. The stock of cold beers is more typical stuff you'll find at the other beer places. Atmosphere is like other Macadoodles I've been to. I'll come here again for mixed sixers. |
70 Their location in Joplin seems a little better. But this one is a big beer/wine/liquor store. Pretty decent selection of beer. Make your own six pack could have a better selection, but fair overall I guess. Prices are fair, service is pretty good. Brown Derby in Springfield is your better choice if you are in the area. |
78 Pretty solid selection. Atmosphere is too over the top for me but staff is helpful. |
72 Great selection of beer and wine. A little out of the way and the guy helping me in the craft beer section was a local bouncer and wasn’t very well informed. They could do better than that. |
72 Gas, ice, beer, wine, cheese. Doesn’t have the selection of the Wine Center, but prices seemed lower to me. And there are gems. $8 for a 75cl of Saison Dupont, for example. If you know what you like, it is best not to engage the uber-friendly beer guys. |
