Hopshop Beer Market

I’d be surprised if there existed a better bottle shop in town than this one. Located in the basement below z-bar at the deli, there’s lots of wood, mood lighting, and cooler after cooler of beer. They specialize in local and regional craft but they had the odd star import, Mikkeller 19 for example, as well. This place is the cleanest, best maintained store in town. They also have a fairly decent pick 6 selection and they have 8 rotating taps for growler fills. In a town that was once a beer desert, this place is yet another pleasant surprise.

With the awful PA Laws you either have to go to a distributor and by nothing less than a case or a bottle shop and buy only 6-packs. As a college student, I’m always going to go bottle shop and The Hopshop is easily the best bottle shop in State College area. The most extensive selection and 8 rotating taps for growler fills. As well as a "Build Your Own 6-Pack" selection, The Hopshop is the best place to find and try different craft beers and more difficult to find imports. For a town that consumes more Natty Light than food. The Hopshop is the only place I buy beer.
