66 I've visited here several times before but I have not somehow rated this before my recent visit. This Monk's Café has small brewing equipment which brews all the time small batches for the restaurant. So many of their own beers but also house beers brewed by Riegele. And huge amount of bottles. This place is always very busy in the evenings, probably the best time to visit is right after opening time. Never eaten here. Certainly place to visit for Monk's Cafe beers which can be interesting. |
80 First you go through the section with home brewer equipment, then comes the bar and the inner part is for dining. I headed for the bar. In front of the long bar counter there are bar stools and tables along the wall. I always prefer to have overview of the bar or sit by the bar counter. Service was very friendly and the barman guided me through their draught beers. A flight is 5 x 10 cl for 149 kronor. A decent offer. Bjarte1 arrived maybe 30 minutes later and I also shared some beers with him. In all, I tried 9 beers from Monks Cafe. But, there is hardly any information about the fact that many of the beers are brewed by Riegele in Germany. Light Lager, Bavarian Pils and Dark Lager are alias beers. Monks Cafe don't brew lager or pils. Did not check out their huge bottled selection. (Visited September 22nd 2017 with Bjarte1) |

56 Great place for beer lover. They had 5 of their brews on tap when I was visiting. All good. Huge selection of other stuff. |
70 Quite a small little bar, and quiet when I visited, nice room, friendly service. Decent enough pub grub. Beer selection...well their own beers seem solid enough (but come from Riegele?) and they had quite a few others on tap which were nothing special; most of the better selection is in the bottles. Pricing...well I guess fair for Stockholm but on any global comparison it was very expensive for what you get. |
82 Multi roomed semi modern gastropub with a close to world-class selection of bottled beers. Also a good range on tap. Visited with good friends 23 Nov 16. |
86 truth be told - I might have been in a better-than-average situation here. Got a guide from one of the headbrewers ( the awesome Danko himself) as we had met a couple of times before. This is a brewpub, in the best way imaginable. only new beers are to be brewed, and next to that, they help commercializing homebrews as well. This idea is infused with a bar that sells their stuff-next to awesome other beers ( vintage struise on tap when I visited, you go girls ! ) and a homebrewer’s shop ( ingredients and equipment) . the Brewery is very small, obviously, and is led by 2 guys that have proved their knowledge long before this happened. The beers that come out are great quality, and often very interesting. the bar is long, modern with lots of wood. many taps, as well as a more-than-decent bottle selection. half pours are an option here ! |
78 Small, quiet place on a corner. Really impressive beer list including their own beers and blends. Good service. |
92 Amazing service, quiet and the selection is really impressive. |
84 Love the bottle list and blends here. Appears pedestrian at first, but this place is clearly underrated. Impressive selection of northern European craft offerings and some strong regional offerings. Hip staff and comfortable atmosphere. Certainly worth a visit. |
