There is a great list here, even if a lot of the titles aren’t always updated. The decor kind of sucks - the paintings on the wall are horrible. Service is generally bad, you’ve got to fight to get someone to check out the cellar if some of the beers on their list are available. Avoid the older guy especially. The older woman usually knows what’s going on - try to deal with her. Prices are the best thing about this place other than the selection.

Visited with Baird and Farmer after the Session 99 Craft Beer Festival. Large open bar and dining area greets you at the door with the patio off to the right. Crowd is diverse in age. We grabbed three pints of Black Oak 10 Bitter Years and I noticed Amsterdam Boneshaker IPA and Great Lakes Lackey’s Cask on tap. Bottle list is massive with stuff from Brooklyn, Thomas Hardy’s, Southern Tier, Les Brasseurs de Gayant, and Rogue, among countless other breweries. Many craft offerings. Service was a bit grisly, but we got our drinks and take out in reasonable time, and the waitresses are quite attractive. The food was surprisingly good - I enjoyed my Thai chicken pizza and the beef nachos were tasty as well (thanks Nick!). Overall, this place is highly underrated IMO, and if the service was slightly better, I would’ve rated it even more favourably. The Rhino has a very respectable tap lineup, a huge bottle menu, solid pub grub, an eclectic crowd, and a fun, welcoming atmosphere. For a so-called "dive bar," you could do ALOT worse.

Grungy but cheap. Check it out earlier in the day if (like me) you have a low frat-boy threshold. Easily the cheapest place I’ve been to in the city. I like that they have full pints and multiple casks. Ambience and service are spotty, but you can certainly have a good time here.

Hmmm, I have a very much love hate relationship with this place.. love - the price, the selection. Hate - the state of the washrooms, the slow/spotty service, the game of ’tap roulette’ when you order a beer... numerous times I’ve ordered one thing and got another and the staff haven’t a clue for the most part what’s on cask..... we’ve had staff pluck fictitious names of beers out of their heads when we’ve asked.... all in all it’s a good place but needs a major shake up. The beer prices are EXCELLENT by Toronto standards and is what makes me return again and again. Oh, the food is okay too, cheap and cheerful pub grub.

This place accommodative to many crowds, and it tries to balance them all. Which is why everyone’es experience at the Rhino is different everytime! When I first went here, it was slammed packed! It took us a good 20 minutes to get drinks, but that didn’t really bother us because we bought 3 Southern Tier Pumpkins for $18 dollars! Retarded cheap. The second time wasn’t as good as the first, the server didn’t know much of antyhing... food and beer? I asked her what was on cask and she replied ’ What’s Cask?’ I laughed, and ordered Black Oak’s Ten Bitter Years which eventually shut me up. Overall, this place is cheap, but go in with no expectations.

Stopped in today with Derweg (Jonas). The place was mostly empty, largely spacious with odd clashing decor. Squared bar is right in the center. Got a pint of the Black Oak Ten Bitter Years which was awesome. Server was very friendly and attentative. The food Jonas ordered was very plentiful for what you pay and tasty. Great selection of stuff, but I can see the place getting super busy and less pleasant than it was today. Definitely has a hardcore bar feel to it, but my experience today was very good and I would easily go again.

Visited on a growingly busy Friday evening in April, it has a dark dance hall feel with a generally loud din above some background music. Cheap drinks are a plus and quite the bottle selection is noted in a big menu, but the first five we tried to order were out of stock. Service is pretty slow and forgetful and one-task minded. Have tried the wings here: tasty if a little cold by the time they came out. As one lady told me in the washroom, "It’s a little dungeon!"

We visited here again later in the year with a group of eight for birthday drinks. The service was quicker but ruder: she gave us a hard time for not giving a bigger tip when it turns out she was ignoring the $10 in change we had collected.

What a strange place. They have an extensive multinational beer list but are out of almost all of them. The prices are really good, which is probably why it’s popular, but most folks are drinking Bud Light. Price is the only reason to drink here but you get what you pay for...

This place blows. It has no idea what it wants to be, as evidence by the myriad of clashing decor and a laughably absurd menu ranging from coq au vin to deep fried pub grub. More than half of the beers we ordered weren’t available. Some bitch shift manager tried to kick us out of our seats for someone else. Prices are very good, but the Rhino is a gong show in pretty much every respect. No way in hell I’m going back to this shithole.

A nice and large round bar. Bottles from what you missed at the LCBO in other parts of the province, basically. Away to the west of downtown.
