74 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 12/20 TheRealMGD (58) Lakewood, Washington | April 2, 2012| Updated December 19, 2012 This is a great place for selection and service - I didn’t think anyone could rival Binny’s (especially the Loop Binny’s). And prices are great - 5 clams for a bomber of GF IIPA! That’s the same price as at the brewery. HOWEVER, 90% of their craft beers are sitting on shelves, unrefrigerated. For some of those beers, especially the ones which have traveled from overseas and were designed to do so, it doesn’t matter so much. However, having unpasteurised, craft beers (particularly IPAs and IIPAs) sitting out on well-lit shelves is criminal. Many of the beers I tried from TW (including the aforementioned GF IIPA) were wrong. Very wrong. Either keep the store at cellar temps or expand your fridge section folks! You are ruining the beers you should be promoting! Shopped there again recently: no improvements to beer storage and some things have gotten worse. The Bud cases are still chilled, thankfully :/ | 74 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 dchmela (100) Orlando, Florida | January 29, 2012| Updated December 19, 2012 Fairly typical Total Wine, good selection of brews, wines and liquor. Some nice local breweries and other cool west coast brewers on the shelf. Good place. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 DiarmaidBHK (523) Pennsylvania | October 21, 2011| Updated December 19, 2012 One of the nicer total wines I’ve seen. This one looks pretty new and apparently in AZ they can offer free samples although today it was just Leinenkugel. As with any other Total wine quantity trumps over quality, wine is always more important than beer, they have a solid section of seasonals but usually nothing too rare, and you can take a bottle out of any six pack to create your own sixer. Not the best Belgian selection and scandinavian beers seem to be completely impossible to get here. Pretty good for a chain. | 88 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 fata2683 (131) Tucson, Arizona | June 17, 2011| Updated December 19, 2012 Best selection and prices in Tucson. It would be hard to recommend Plaza over this place simply because of the massive selection of beer. All six packs can be broken into singles which is a bonus as well. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 neuromatt (6) Toronto, Ontario | August 29, 2010| Updated December 19, 2012 A warehouse store specializing in wine, but with a great selection of American craft brews. The staff was quite helpful. One of the better places to shop in Tucson. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | August 19, 2010| Updated December 19, 2012 Great selection of American craft brews. They’ll let you mix and match singles. Selection of Belgians is much smaller. Staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. Great place. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 19/20 mikeydfresh121 (1) Arizona | May 11, 2010| Updated December 19, 2012 Great place to get lost looking at various brews and wines, gigantic store, BYO 6-packs and helpful descriptions for each of the products they carry. Staff seemed helpful, and the atmosphere was very well crafted. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 18/20 GKillian (2) Tucson, Arizona | March 23, 2010| Updated December 19, 2012 Nice layout; lots of helpful service, staff knowledgeable; great selection of beers, most available in single servings; great prices (cheaper than supermarkets); great store. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 beerguy101 (75) Newark, California | April 18, 2009 I think Plaza carries more beers. This store does have a nice selection of stuff you can buy as singles, unlike BevMo. Good selection of US and Foreign beers. They did have some things that Plaza and BevMo don’t. Definitely worth a stop. Their price are good. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 Plamadude30k (3) Tucson, Arizona | March 14, 2009 Very good prices, and the ’build your own 6-pack’ feature made me absolutely delighted. A better selection than BevMo, I only had time to go through 2/3 of their stock (and very quickly at that) as I was there rather late. I must go back! |
