Old review for my own records from before it got washed away (obviously). This was a top place with excellent beers. Plenty of them on tap too. The number of beers available did not fit neatly with the number offered in their standard sampler trays but (unlike some places) this did not phase the barman at all. He just went through the lot bringing them out two at a time and I never had to wait for the next batch even though he was very busy. A sad loss.

One of the earlier stops on BQ 2010. Nice brewpub with a GREAT selection of beer. The IPAs really blew us away. To match the great beers, was the bartender - who was one of the most friendly and knowledgable beer guys I have come across ever. He was able to recommend a great beer bar in one of the neighboring towns which we ended up later that night. I hope they can relocate this place when it’s all said and done, because these guys deserve their beers to be showcased to the fullest extent.

Great place. Food was outstanding. A wide variety of beers. All of the ones I tried were first rate. Service was excellent. Had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated, but worth the wait.

Admirably varied selection of well executed brews, decent atmosphere, good service. Menu looked comparable to other well established brewpubs with a respectable kitchen. Nothing truly notable to say but if you’re in the area the beers are absolutely worth stopping for.

This place is amazing. Some of the best beer around, great food, cool place. The only downside to this place is it’s small size which can be a problem when it is crowded.

I’ve been to the Alchemist a couple of times now and I really enjoy this place. The place is really small which can be kind of a problem if its a busy night. You walk in the door and the bar is off to the right against the wall. There’s maybe 20 seats at the bar and a couple of tables towards the front of the right side of the building. There’s a half wall on your right that serves to kind of separate the dining area from the bar area. There are maybe 20 tables tops in the dining area. The food as always been good for me and my wife concurs. This is a brewpub so they have about 7 of their beers on tap and I haven’t found a bad one yet. Hell I enjoyed the gluten free beer I tried once. Service is good, I will be back next time I’m up that way.

Great brewpub seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Fantastic Beers! Sampled several and all were very well brewed and super fresh! I wish we could get their beers in Ma. I’ll make this a regular stop while in VT

A great small brewpub in the small town of Waterbury. Stopped by on a Wednesday night and it was rather crowded, although we still managed to find 2 seats at the bar. Everyone knows that Alchemist’s beer is awesome - their IPAs and porter were particularly excellent, but all the beers I tried there were great. Also split a sausage plate which was very good. Definitely worth a stop, I can’t wait to go back when I get a chance.

Food was awesome. Beer cheese Spread with pretzel bits is a great way to start. The food entrees are large and depending on how much you drink, you be able to split a dish with a friend. Service was excellent! A very nice home town feel. Andrea was extremely helpful and she really knew her beer, plus she gave us directions to a place in Montpelier, VT. Well above what you will find in anywhere in NH or MA. I will revisit this place in the fall, without doubt!
