September 2017 - official reopening at the new location. Now located in an inner courtyard pretty much just across the street from the old location, containing a small shop area, bigger and more generic than before,
Early 2015 - old location:
Svijet Piva has grown a lot and definitely became an essential visit for everyone. The beer selection now includes a very, very large amount of top-class American beers, a ton of Mikkellers, To Øl etc. etc. etc. Alen & the others know what they are doing, and they do it in style. Another room was recently added where you can sit and relax in/drink/rate while your beer chills in the fridge - various events are organized with certain types of beers on sale. And, for bonus points, there’s the store parrot, known for opening bottles & cans, even, sometimes, those it shouldn’t (and taking off earrings and buttons. :D) - seemed to like me well enough, so I don’t mind. Aaanywaaaay, it’s brilliant to see places like this grow with time, and things will only get better, a cool place indeed. 4/9/13/-/7/16

Early 2014:
Svijet Piva started as a little store by the Slavonska street, whose initial selection based on the ACDC & Trooper + not-common-but-not-rare-Belgians honestly made me not bother to visit them initially (in the shade of the Magic Beer Room and the memory of Kuca Piva, heck, even Vrutak). However, it seems to have profited a lot, alongside the importer who seems to supply them mostly, from Croatia entering the EU. They also moved to a place only a block away from the busy Kvaternik square. A bit isolated from all the other beer places, but never mind - easily accessible by tram, even if weather wreaks havoc on the lines like it has today.

Ok, enough with the intro. It’s a small, cozy store, with (at that point) metal coming out of the speakers) and with shelves filled with a very good selection of beers from European craft greats, a solid BrewDog lineup since recently and even some Founders beers. There are some specials around. Hard to gauge the prices, but likely still lower than in pubs, so yay. The service didn’t seem to be tripping over themselves to assist, and that’s quite fine with me, as it might as well be vice-versa, and I usually like that, but others might be less thrilled - though, again, it might’ve just been that time. As far as I’m concerned, they did their stuff efficiently.

All in all, a welcome addition to the scene, right now possibly the store with the best selection in town (by an inch). I do dig the fact that they’re keeping the availabilities here up to date, and I hope that they iron out the few kinks they might have now. 4/7/11/-/7/15

Hurried there 10min before they closed, but staff was super nice. Bought some local brews, just quickly scanned the "internationals" - pretty standard, selection is good. Prices are alright, well come again whenever we make it back!

Small store, bit outside of city center. Guys working there are ready to give recommendations or just chat about beer. Selection is impressive, finally no need to travel to Ljubljana to pick up something new and interesting. Nice selection of Mikkeller and To Ol, and some quality US stuff. Prices are bit on the high side, but still acceptable. Recently they’ve started hosting events in the room next door which is nice.

Small beer store located in the eastern part of town. And by small, it was tough to move with 6 people in the pace. Pretty easy to find but parking could be a challenge if you do not take a tram or bus. I did not really interact with the staff until I checked out but the one guy there was engaged with another customer and seemed to be pretty helpful to her. Lots of Mikkeller and several Belgian beers with a few American and Czech beers. The bird at the cashier desk was a little annoying when I was trying to pay but the guy moved it upstairs. Prices are a little bit higher than at other places but it is definitely worth stopping as there are several beers here that you will not find anywhere else. I will definitely be going here again.

A pleasant little bottle shop near the center of the city. Pretty easy to find. More than decent selection of mostly English, Belgian, German and American beers. Also some more difficult to find Croatian beers. Prices seemed ok. The guy at the shop didn’t seem too interested, but nevermind that. Decent visit.

Small store. ok staff. Not too big choise of beers, but there are sone rarities for Croatian market and pubs eg. celis white, some lambics. Selection is based on belgians (mostly kasteel) and brewdog. Prices are on higer scale, if you compare with eg. vrutak. Ok store with ok selection.
