Bonnie Prince Pub

Thin long British pub with the bar in the upper part of this split-level venue, the lower part having a dartboard. Curiously there's a smoking room too, something I am told is quite rare in Switzerland. The decor is all red soft-furnishings and wood in a low-lit atmosphere, perhaps with a worn 20th century feel apart from the Irish macro brews. A Swiss brewer provides several different craft styles here.

Very central, this place feels like you have stepped out of Zürich and somewhere else. Place looks the part, carpet, dark, odd lightning. This place was a brilliant and surreal experience. We stepped in and said hello only to be greeted by “I am sorry I don’t speak English very well”. Which makes sense in an Switzerland but in an English Pub. Were shown newly arrived bottle which were sold to as Icelandic beers but turned out to be Faroe Island beers which I heard later they get from a nearby metal bar. This place makes no sense, they try to have a selection going but it is all real garbage but the prices are okay painful for Zürich. We got some popcorn. My friend asked helped to use the wifi saying that he has very bad sight and problems seeing & he got the reply “It is okay I don’t speak English very well”, he did get help. Service is very attentive, lovely friend and inexplicable. If they have the right glasses you get those otherwise you drink from the bottle. He has the worst Guinness pouring technique I have ever seen but he does it consistently the same very time. Music was Irish rock, death metal but always oddly in theme. People next to us were USA military swapping war stories. The beer is terrible, the prices are bearable & the experience is priceless. This phase is beyond ratings really, the best kind of amazing bad that leaves a great story. Too bad the smoking room wasn’t better isolated. They also do terrible shots like hard liquor in Guinness. Glorious bad / amazing. They also claim to be the oldest bar in Zürich.

Basically read GrandpaTurtle’s rating on this one. Really not a special place for beer, but a cozy one for socializing.

Nice little pub, The Beer selection isn’t interesting at all.

It’s a very nice place to go in the "odd hours". It’s quite comfy since it’s rather dark and the couches are nice. The selection is very small but just good enough for 1-2 beers. Not the place to go "tasting", but if you wanna have a beer with a friend and just talk a bit, it’s very nice and very central. Of course with the growing competition it falls a bit short.

Interesting place. Your standard English and Irish beers on tap. One Swiss. Bottle selection of Scottish ales is good, about 10. Like everyhing here extremely expensive. Even Happy Hour is.

Cool place in old town/ tourist area of Zurich. Good selection of Scottish ales and whisky. Not much of a Swiss beer selection. Place obviously wants to be a scottish bar, with decor matching this. Worth a visit- if you are interested in Scottish beers- but if you are hunting Swiss beers there is no point going here. But definetly better then most places in Zurich

One of the widest beer selections in Zurich (though that’s not saying a lot). They have quite a range of Scottish ales, and some English, and Irish as well. Has a dedicated fumoir room (where most of the tables are), a dart board, and a pay-to-play juke box.
