70 Old school, rather small and somewhat messy 'drankenhal' near Kortrijk, of the kind you'll find in any Belgian village or town; they do offer a selection of very local beers, though, many of which you will not easily find anywhere else, like Johan Tack's whisky barrel aged project, Pottelbergh, rare Gulden Spoor beers and others; the second floor, which is so badly advertized that I simply missed it the first time I visited the place, is especially interesting for Belgian craft beers, with many dozens of sometimes underexposed Belgian ales to choose from. They also have a more than decent selection of lambics (if you manage to find it: it's close to the counter, on your right hand side if you approach it from inside the store). Anything else is rather negligible (the 'big names'), but if you intend to find unlikely Belgian ticks from the Kortrijk region and beyond, this one is worth the detour; I did not spot any foreign craft beers worth mentioning when I was there, but apparently this has been the case in the past at some point, according to some of the ratings below. For me personally this is only about half an hour drive by car and that seems worthwile; easy to combine with a visit to the grand Bierhalle Deconinck too, of course. Very helpful and efficient staff and more than decent prices as well. Would visit again. |
76 Visited 18th January 2016 - Good place near to Kortrijk centre. Good selection with nice classical Belgium beer for a really good value. There is a small area for some special beer like gueuze or lambic and also for special breweries, and if you go upstairs there is a huge selection of special Belgian breweries. Good service and good selection for a good value. Good place to visit. |
80 Great shop! This place goes further than most similar type of Belgian ’warehouse’ shops. Not only do they have a great amount of (mostly good) beers on offer, their service is top notch, speedy and friendly. Some euro craft (could still work on that, though) and decent to great prices. Went away with more than 3 crates of new ticks, so I certainly don’t complain! If they work on that international selection, all will be good for them. |
72 Warehouse close to the center of Kortrijk. Decent selection of mostly Belgian beers, although beers from Rooie Dop, De Molen and Jopen have been added. Entire selection of Gulden Spoor available, including homebeer Tineke van Heule. Prices are ok and staff is friendly. As it’s located at the end of my street, I pass by regulary. It’s a nice stop, when you are in the neighborhood, but don’t expect something special. |
70 OK drankenhandel close to the center of Kortrijk. Besides the usual macro lagers they have a selection of Struise, Alvinne and quite some Gulden Spoor beers (the brewery is almost located in their backyard). Also had some Hof ten Dormael, Dochter van de Korenaar, few De Molen’s and regular Cantillons (OG, Kriek), Boon. Not a a shop to go out of your way for, decent still. Prices are OK. |
78 Good place. When I go to one of these, the contrast between these kind of places and a city centre beer shop the price difference is always noticeable. Lots of local stuff, good selection of other Belgian stuff too at good prices. |
76 Came with EdKing. Reasonably easy to find in Kortrijk about 5 mins from the ring road. Imagine a scaled down Dranken Geers. Most standard lambics but in small numbers. Prices about similar to D Geers. After a few questions and showing real interest, the guy on duty was really good in finding me some Orval (must order in advance to get it normally) and a whole case of Struise Pannepot. English is spoken no problem. Friendly, helpful and some incredible value. I’d come back in a heartbeat if in the area. |
74 i and my girlfriend came along so we visited it was a good shop with a good selection of beers from the region and with a good staf im going back when i’m around |
84 As we (Harrisoni) didn’t have time to get to Dranken Geers, this was a good alternative. Has most Belgian beers in bulk. Lots of variety including all the Trappist beers (Orval must be ordered in advance), all the Abbey beers and then a decent-ish selection of rarer stuff. Saison Dupont 75l for 2,5 euros, Boon stuff at rock bottom prices and a reasonable amount of Struise. Was a bit of a lack of Cantillon and not many 3 Fontenein, but good for most things and helpful service. |
84 Belgian beer heaven! Lots of variety, including gift packs and assembled gift baskets. Seasonals stocked also. Owner was able to assist in English. Will definitely visit again if I am in this part of Belgium! |
