(Visited 08/2010): Stopped here on a recent Anaheim trip, after trying to visit a few years ago and finding them closed. The brewpub is located in Hermosa Beach on Manhattan Ave a couple blocks from the ocean. Street parking is available all along Manhattan, although some of it is metered. The exterior is well-manicured with a large porch. Inside it is very open and there is a small bar on the right side with brewing equipment behind it, with table seating elsewhere, including several with a nice view of the ocean. Next to the Johnny Cash posters, the giant mechanical steer in the middle of the dining area is the most noticeable decor. There was an upstairs too but I did not check that out. The beer selection includes 4 house brews plus several guest taps from the likes of Lost Coast. Union Cattle’s beers were all pretty average and were the standard safe brewpub choices (Hefe, Lager, Pale and Irish Red). Service was decent on a rather slow dinner. Our server didn’t seem overly passionate about beer but honestly neither does the brewpub. The food was pricey but pretty good. Our steaks were cooked to order and tasty. Overall this place is not high on the must-visit list for the area but might be worth a shot on a day to watch some buzzed people try the bull and to enjoy the ocean view.

Decent enough brewery with about 5 house beers when I visited. If indoor bull riding is on your to-do list, they can accommodate. There are three levels to choose from for seating, one with an outdoor fireplace, one with an ocean view, and one with a view of bull riders. The food is good; everything is overpriced because it is California.
