62 Visited a couple of times. They do the beers from Vejle Bryghus, which are mostly served in good condition and by friendly, serviceminded staff. Being a restaurent, they know much more of the food they serve than the beers. They do some nice lunch, so for sure worth a pitstop if in the area. Parking is within walking distance. |
64 Visited the brewpub. Nice rooms, 6 taps (only 3 used). Really good food, prices OK. |
78 Easy to see why this place was voted Best Lunch Place in Denmark. Not sure who took that poll, and I certainly haven’t had lunch too many places in Denmark. But, holy cow, it takes no convincing at all to believe that lots of people would decide this place was their favorite.
Start with the smørrebrød. Actually, that’s all you really need to know if you’re only going to be here once. Open-faced sandwiches, very much an old Danish culinary tradition. They’re spectacular without a doubt. No basic cold cuts here--they’re all typed with interesting specialty meat or fish, all have high-quality cheeses, scratch-made sauces, and lot of crunchy fresh herbs and greens. We tried at least a dozen kinds and they were all amazing.
The salmon appetizer had lots of explosive flavor, the Danish Beef was a very tasty dish that must have inspired Salisbury steak, the pheasant stew was wonderful, the bacon entree is pretty unbelievable, and the desserts were incredibly rich and decadent.
This place isn’t cheap, but the dining room is gorgeous, the service is wonderful, and the food is thoroughly delightful. |
62 Nice restauarent close to Vejle Bryghus. Great service. 6 taps of Vejle Bryghus. 3 regular and 3 specials (at this time two christmas beers and the oktoberfest). Didnt have the food, but it looked ok. |
