So here’s a little outfit supposedly owned by Lion NZ corporation, serving a fantastic Pilsner Urquell clone (4.1 for me) as well as respectable versions of English Bitter and Helles lager. I overheard something about a team of corporate brewers who tend to the batches made on site. Whatever they’re doing for the Pearse’s Pils I hope they continue to do so. Made me think I may have been having an off day, couldn’t possibly be this clean, flavorful, balanced and aromatic of a Pilsner, but I had three glasses top to bottom and there wasn’t a flaw to be found. Makes me curious to hear the impressions of the next person to come through and visit.

Newly opened with a couple of house brews. Same feel as the old Brewery Britomart. Need to revisit in due time.

This is a newly opened place on the site of the Brewery Britomart. They have one beer of their own so far, a pale ale served from one of three brightening tanks right behind the bar. A pilsner and a lager are expected shortly. Staff is friendly and helpful, and food is tasty with decent prices. Not much parking in the area. Worth keeping an eye on this place, I hope it does well as Auckland’s craft beer scene slowly develops.
