82 This is a great beer bar, with a selection that cannot be beat anywhere in Fairfield. The burgers are good, and the staff has always been super nice and helpful as well. (This location has closed... They are still open in Oakley though.) |
72 (Visited 10/2012): Gordo’s is located in Fairfield on the DIxie Highway in a shopping plaza not too far off I-275. Also right by Jungle Jim’s. There is a lot in front of the plaza with plenty of parking. Inside is a large and open room with wooden table seating past the entrance and the bar along the back wall. Vanilla colored walls with sparse decor. The beer selection at Gordo’s amounts to around 8, including beers from Rivertown (Roebling), Bells, Southern Tier, Stoudts and Yuengling. As for bottles there are around 20 with selections from Rivertown, Mt. Carmel, Rogue, Bear Republic, Thirsty Dog, Brooklyn, Ommegang and Chimay. Service on a slow afternoon was good. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about the beers and burgers. As for the burgers, Gordo’s is known for them and ours were both good. ,br> Overall I believe this is not the original Gordo’s location and I would like to go there sometime. This spot is kind of sterile but the burgers and beer selection are solid. |
70 Stopped in for lunch while taking a break from Jungle Jims. Place was fairly empty, 3 people. It was tuesday at 1 oclock though?? Server was attentive and i was,nt expecting a beer wizard but she knew the basics. Small but decent beer selection. Our food was fair. The BPJ was an interesting burger for sure, tasty lil bugger. TVs were on, soap opera on one of them, weird. Facilities were in disrepair and the wife had no paper towels when she went. I,d stop in again if in the area but would,nt make special stop just for it. |
72 The beer selection is impressive, I just wasn’t impressed with the service or knowledge of the staff about the beer. |
