8 The place seem to be closed for a long time (or permantly) as I could see stuff piled up inside and found no info on the locked door. Visit on 2013-07-08. |
68 Nice decor. Interesting selection of beers. Reasonably priced for beers |
62 Arrive by coach, and you can be drinking in this place within 5 minutes. Just head round the side of the 4th hangar (of the market), and it’s just opposite. Lovely brickwork interior, helpful staff, good English spoken. I counted only 60 bottles, but still that’s a good selection - there were at least 6 ticks for me, even though I was at 5000 at the time). La Trappe bockbier - never seen that before. For Riga, this is expensive, but it’s way cheaper than any of Scandinavia. (The bockbier was 12 Lati for a 75cl, =17e). I know that some of the locals said negative things about it, as there are better venues, it’s not intrinsically bad at all. |
70 Riga’s first multinational beer cafe in a new development near the river south of the old centre, bus & train stations and central market. Not much interesting Latvian stuff beyond Cesu unfiltered and the international selection is ’safe’, though there are some odd ones such as Dithmarcher Pilsener from northern Germany and lots of La Trappe. A good development and not a bad start. |
86 Quite interesting place, located in the newly developed Spikeri area of Riga. Old historical building with modern design elements. Service and food were grate. Especially great were girls, which known quite lot about beer. Restaurant have more than 90 beer brands (mostly in bottle), but my intention grabbed local beer. I tried restaurant’s brewed beer unfiltered Cesu. Taste was strong and full , I was surprised than in Latvia, they are able to make good beer. |
