78 I ran across this place by accident while exiting the Phone Box. went with Panzer and Nigredo, and we did not regret it. Ditto with Panzer’s review. I especially liked the Excalibur Scotch Ale! Interesting choice of piscos, and they even had a hemp Absinthe! Didn’t try that. Very relaxed, with cool jazz and attentive service. Happy hour from 6 till 10 PM on all draft beers! |
68 Panzerfaust took me to this place and it was very nice. The place is beautiful and very close to a metro (subway) station. This is one of the few places in Santiago in which the barman does not try to pour the beer with no head!!. The food is great, good variety and large servings, a bit expensive in relation to the beers but since this is not a bar but a restaurant, it was not surprising. |
68 I went to this place with Lubiere and nigredo and I’m definitely going again. It’s right in front of the Phone Box Pub. Beautiful decoration in a relaxing ambience with blues/jazz music and wood furniture. The barman was very nice and was interested in our conversation about beer. When we started arguing about the differences of Chilean and Peruvian Pisco’s he gave us a free small sample to compare both of them.
The selection is pretty good. 40 bottled beers from England, Belgium, Chilean micros and others. But the most interesting thing of all is their taps. They have very rare brews like Morland Excalibur Scotch and Strong Lager, and Belhaven Stout. They had also the casked Old Speckled Hen and Kunstmann and Austral from Chile.
The food is very good but somewhat expensive compared to other places in the country. We drunk a pint of english beers from tap paired with a 5 cheeses table (Smoked, Camembert, Brie, Gruyere and Rochefort with some olives). They were delicious and fresh. Great pairing.
I really recommend this place. |
