| armando629 (17), Budapest, Hungary | | November 20, 2008 The brewpub is in a wonderful house located in the glamorous and picturesc middle-age district of Nuremberg. The stuff was very doll and friendly, the ambience is nice. I haven’t seen the process, because i was in a hurry... | | Bierkrug (42), Idar-Oberstein, Germany | | September 2, 2008 [ Updated September 14, 2008 ] This is one of my favorite places in Germany, again been going there for years. I used to give tours of the city to visiting soldiers. The beers are fantastic and the Brewpub is nice and small. Food is quite good and you can walk around back and see the brewing process through the large glass windows. If you sweet talk the staff you might get a private tour. Also a little secret is that at night under the brewpub is a full swing music club that serves the same beer as above while playing 20 year old music, a fun place, one of the few breweries that have a club in it. Try the bock beer in season. | | downender (65), Bristol, England | | July 4, 2007 This brewpub proved a good place to shelter in a snowstorm in November 2006. It is well-situated in the Altstadt with friendly, attentive service and a comfortable, tidy interior. The beers were very good, particularly the Schwarzbier. Excellent. | | fonefan (23), Ulfborg, Denmark | | September 27, 2006 Very nice place, just by the altstadt. modern-looking, clean, stylish. They only have their own beers. Service was very good. | | mullet (118), Melbourne, Australia | | January 15, 2006 [ Updated January 14, 2008 ] Conveniently tucked away just under the altstadt. Nice looking place, with extremely friendly service. Food was pretty standard boring-but-reliable German fare. Of course, the reason you come here is for the beer, and the Schwarzbier in particular. It’s really spectacular stuff, and you can take them all home in 1L swingtop bottles!brReturned in August 07 to find the Schwarzbier more of a light brown and nowhere near as good as I recall. We did manage to get filmed for a German travel show though, and the food was quite nice. Still a nice quiet place for a beer, but way less interesting this time around. | | larsga (107), Oslo, Norway | | September 25, 2005 Very nice place; modern-looking, clean, stylish; obviously a local for many of the people who come there. They only have their own beers, but these are excellent. Service was very good, and the food was of the local traditional variety, and outstanding. Highly recommended! |
