The Brass Monkey is a great little bar in the Heart of South O. It is worth the trip! The staff is usually very nice. The owners are wonderful people and a pleasure to be around. The demographic is all over the place, which I think is cool, from your very very blue collar guy, to beer geeks and suits. Local brewers tend to frequent this place as it is away from the worries of the brewery but close enough to home. A great tap list, descent bottle selection, nice beer garden, tons of TVs. A great addition to the craft beer scene in Omaha. Also make sure to check out the other great beer bars like The Lauter Tun, Crescent Moon, Jakes, Beercade, Krug Park, Library Pub and more!

There’s nothing here that the traveling RateBeerian cannot get at the Crescent Moon/Beertopia complex. If you are visiting or passing through and have limited time, don’t think you are going to find a better selection at the BM. This is a very small place with quite a different clientele than the Crescent Moon, so if beer ambiance is important to you, you might consider the Crescent Moon a bit "safer." Finally, the bartenders know very little about craft brew at the BM, so you are really on your own (not that YOU need any beer help). However, I do expect a full measure of beer even in a 14 ounce "pint" glass and many is a time the pour is unacceptable to me at the BM.

A delightful new spot in Omaha. Super beer selection includes Nebraska and regional favorite; something for everyone. If the free popcorn isn’t enough for you, guests are welcome to self-cater. Beer garden to open in spring. Frequent $2.50 pint specials.
