The bar is located in front of a canal. Its major selling point, more than the beer list, are the tables outside, along the canal and on a boat that is kept in front of the bar. Wonderful at night! Service was OK. Selection was OK, but quite average.

Nice pub. Old fanshioned, relaxing ambiance. Enough beers to choose from. Good place to enjoy your beer at the waterfront. Worthwhile visiting.(11-8-2018).

Very pleasant traditional style pub/cafe located by a canal. Sells itself as a beer pub, bottle selection seemed wide and they had about ten on tap - the list looked decent but somehow not exciting. Friendly service. Not cheap given serving size.

Nice bar at a canal in The Hague. The ambiance is great as it is a typical Dutch brown café. The beer selection is rather poor. Yes you can get a few ticks but those will be (imho) mediocre or second-rate Belgian beers. When we visited they did have two Moersleutel cans and they always have the Prior from Haagsche Broeder in 75cc. Service is nice and friendly and they do serve some snacks and a pizza Margherita. However the rating on ratebeer is way too high.

Nice location with the terrace on the canal and great ambiance inside. Unfortunately the beer selection isn't that exciting, unless you're into the 'standard' or 'classic' Belgium beers. Menu offers also some Dutch craft beer and from other countries but nothing special. Pretty expensive also compared to other bars and service is just ok. Don't come here if you want to try the newest and latest beers.

Lovely classic beer place, lots of wood and breweriana. Long room, with the bar at the left hand side, and lots of seating spaces in front. Also a nice terrace by the channel, part of it on a vessel. Selection is 10 taps, mainly belgian with some imports, and quite a good number of bottles, around 180 they claim. Nothing to exciting, but good beers to have a few rounds in a warm and cosy atmosphere.Friendly service, two women in charge when we visited, some snacks. Worth a visit.

Huge selection of beers, many classics and some good crafts. Drinking on the channel with the sun is perfect.

Bierspeciaalcafe De Paas offered some welcome respite today from the dreadful weather. It had been forecast to be showery but in reality it was mostly just continual steady rain punctuated by the odd very, very occasionall rare sunny respite, anyway that is what it felt like to us as we wandered around like drowned rats having left our waterproof gear in our bike panniers that were parked some distance away, grrrr.... We popped in here on Sunday 2nd October 2016.Bierspeciaalcafe De Paas can be found alongside a canal on Dunne Bierkade. It’s just a little south of the centre of town and sits between the centre and Den Haag HS station.

This is a lovely café inside, admittedly there is a lot going on with lots of enamel beer signs and beery paraphernalia but there is some nice soft lightning, and a very warm and cosy atmosphere to be found. The serving bar is unmissable as this is a long narrow’ish café with seating all down the RH side and the bar taking up much of the LH side. There are beer boards with the tap lists on and also one at the far end of the bar displaying some of the temporary beers and behind the bar further into the café you can see rows of beers on shelves (they have all of these available) there are also beer lists/ slim booklets scattered around.

We really liked it here, the two female staff were very friendly, beer wise I thought that the choice was very good though I guess that there may be too many traditional beer for many folk, I was easily able to find something news to me. Prices were a bit steep compared to most places we’d been to over here. You could easily while away an hour or two here, it’s not hard to see why this is the top place in town

Stuck somewhere in the eighties for beer (huge Belgian fixation), the tap list is generally fairly bland and of the large bottle list you might find a couple of interesting items. Prices are on the high side.
