70 Visited back in December after the Trans-Siberian show at the rock. Place was fairly empty and the service was fair. Food was basic pub grub and could be improved upon a lot. Beers were all average to above average, well except for some fruit wheat beer but girls need something to drink to I suppose. Definitely worth a stop if your at the rock. |
74 Quiet afternoon in early june 2011. Entered into this place on my way to RBSG in Philly arriving to Newark - very easy trainride and short walk to get here. Old facade from Venice on the front, classic US pub inside with big tv screens and seats around the bar. The sample set was a bit unorganised but I managed to get the right order and beers with help of the brewer. I was given a small tour of the brewery too. Extremely friendly service, really good beer and a nice quiet early afternoon. I didn’t try the food. A must hit when having 2-3 hours in Newark Airport or passing by. |
60 I decided to check this place out before going to a Seton Hall/UConn game at the Prudential Center. When we first got there, only a few people were at the bar, but then it filled up closer to game time. There is a simple bar when you walk in, and then a "fancier" dining/bar area upstairs. The bartenders were good company and prompt. It took us 30 minutes to get our tab, but I can’t blame them, the place was packed by the time we left. They only serve their own beer, which is quite delicious, so the selection is rather low. Standard bar food and their $3 pints between 4-7 is awesome. If you like beer, this is the place to go before events at the Prudential. |
88 Fantastic brew pub in downtown Newark a few blocks north of the Prudential Center. Gets quite busy on game and event nights. Great beer selection brewed on premisis. They have all the major varities covered with some interesting takes on non-traditional styles as well. Great food and great service. Bartenders are very friendly and attentive. Would recommend this place to anyone going to Newark. You can even talk to the owner, he’s there all the time and always willing to chat with the customers. They have a mug club for regulars and a fantastic happy hour daily (4-7pm). How many bars can you name that have a mug club? I don’t know of any others in the NY metro area - and I’ve done my homework! |
94 Great Brew Pub. Go here if you like good beer. Last I checked there were 7 of their eventual 8 beers on tap. Comes in a wide variety of styles so theres something for most beer drinkers. I come during happy hour a lot because the specials are awesome. Only brewery in Newark, It’s got my vote. Cheers

88 Warm, welcoming Brew Pub in a nice section of Newark, which is having a resurgence. Friendly staff, excellent EXCELLENT beer, full bar, and good tavern fare. Great selection of 5 to 8 home-brewed beers on tap; happy hour on weekday evenings from 4-7 with $3 pints. And...a MUG CLUB! Great place to be a customer, even better place to be a regular. |
