The name is a bit miss leading, since there isn’t an actual Microbrewery there. They do howwever make up for this with a lot of local micros. The recently added Santa Fe to the already vast NM micros. I did have an over priced omelet, but after my flight was delayed the chicken wings made up for it. The servers seemed cool and knowledge was okay. I was able to get my first beer at 7am so unless its Sunday no issues there. I’m sure if I have the time and am passing through again, i’ll try another or two.

From notes 10/2006. Since Albuquerque is where I live, of course I will be checking this place out while waiting at the airport to fly out. The service was fine, and the beer collection is okay. They had New Belgium’s 1554 on tap, which was the most interesting. They had four brews of their own and the one I tried (the amber) was mediocre I felt. I was eating breakfast and had an omelet which was mediocre as well. The only thing I would stop by for again is the 1554 or some other interesting beer they might happen to bring in. Otherwise, I will pass in the future.

Question: What time are you allowed to consume alcohol here? Answer: 7am to 2am. I like this place already. Server was nice and fast, she offered samples too. There are 20 taps, but there is nothing interesting unless you haven’t had the local NM brews. Worth the stop, even if it was 8:30 in the morning. There is food, but I didn’t have any.

I lived in ABQ 99-02 and came thru here all the time ... believe it or not, one of the best beer bars in ABQ is right here in the airport. Rio Grande Brewing brews about 3-4 beers under a "Route 66" label for these guys, plus they have a quality lineup of "microbrews" on line for the friendly traveler ... the bartender told one customer while I visited in Sep 06, "We don’t have any Bud or Coors products, this is a microbrewery ..." ... OK, theyre not really a brewery, and they kinda do have Bud products (Widmer, Redhook) and Coors products (Blue Moon) and they have Miller Lite on tap. But the other 17 taps were generally good local (Isotopes, Sierra Blanca) and decent regionals (Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada). Fly into ABQ just to have a beer!
