Now known simply as The Sister. Stopped in for brunch the other day. Big sized spot in a rapidly gentrifying part of town. Beer selection is all Ontario micro (and McAuslan) - nothing you wouldn’t have seen many times if you like beer and live in Toronto but with a couple more unique choices (namely Hop Addict and Blak Katt). There’s also a rotating tap (Junction Conductors when I was there) and a cask (Durham Hop Head). Food menu isn’t all that big but eveything was solid. If I was in Parkdale looking for beer the Rhino would definitely get the call but when with the family and looking for some food I wouldn’t be disappointed to end up here.

Visited on a busy evening earlier this year in January, Janine Stoll and her band of Donefors were causing a ruckus and the crowd was enjoying it. Beer selection is not crazy but they did have 10W30 on tap (marked by it’s signature motor oil tap handle) and I found a Stiegl to rate, but not much else caught our eye. Service was slow to figure out we wanted to leave and free up our table. No food, but my friend and her date enjoyed some nachos before we arrived. Overall, not unpleasant, but as I would probably return under similar circumstances, I would not expect anything muchly changed.

very dark, it has live music on monday night, so that’s a plus. the waiter is friendly and the atmosphere is quite nice for a night out, as previously stated. the selection is not the best with many beers out, but overall it’s decent.

Nice little spot in a part of town you might not expect to find one. Nice line up of micro’s on tap. Didn’t try the food so I won’t rate it, but I’ve heard nothing but good things. Service adequate, prices fair, and a really neat funky neighborhood feel to it. There are more and more of these neighborhood neat places featuring micro’s only in Toronto and while, as Greg Said, you wouldn’t make it a beer destination, it is really nice to be able it find more and more good pints.

This is my local pub, so my opinion may be a little biased, but it’s one of my favourite hangouts in the city. Atmosphere is comfortable and funky, with mismatched chairs and artwork on the walls that changes monthly. Food is upscale pub grub - burgers, pasta, fish & chips - with really healthy (as in LARGE) portions. They do a mean weekend brunch as well. Taps feature a well-selected assortment of Ontario and Quebec micros, and the bottles are primarily micros as well. While it’s not a must-visit destiniation for hardcore beer geeks, it’s a great neighbourhood joint.
