Biggest selection of beer in my area. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely worth a trip there if your looking for a great beer selection.

Stopped in after leaving work in the area. Looks like your neighborhood sack o suds on the outside. The bottle area is clean and organized and the staff were friendly. Prices were a bit on the high side. Off to the side they have a mini deli with keeno and stuff which was filled with a bunch of loud ghetto looking drunks. Probably wont be back.

Ambiance - was a little strange. The neighborhood is slightly dodgy. I heard one of the staff say several times, "I’m coming over to smell your wife’s underwear drawer!" to another customer, I’m assuming the knew each other, but it’s sort of weird, and kind of unprofessional. The place is organized and the indoor area is really nice, but sort had an AA quality about it. Service - was helpful, and the one lady was really doing her best to help me locate really off the wall stuff. The folks that frequent there were very helpful and one gentlemen helped me locate some great brews. Selection - I’ve been to other places, and they are smaller and it seemed like they had more than this location. However, what I will say is that Mari’s does have a lot of really nice beers, and whatever companies they carry, they seem to have most all the beers that company carries. One thing I thought was odd, was that there really wasn’t much in the way of Czech, Russian, or East European beers, or really many other beers from around the world. It’s definitely more stateside focused, and that’s ok, but would have liked to see that. Food - not sure they had more than chips and peanuts Value - The beer prices aren’t that competitive versus other bottle shops, here and there some were right, some where way up there. I will say that I did get a nice Duvel glass for $6 which seemed very fair. A long drive for me, I might stop down again, but it’d be rare.

Great place for individual bottles both warm or cold. One drawback that I’ve noticed is many of their bottles don’t have prices listed. You have to take it to the checkout counter for pricing. They also do tastings of various micros.

Located in a less than desirable part of town, however, huge selection of ales to choose from and fairly reasonable prices. Helpful associates to help you find a particular style or brand. Go during the daytime and you shouldn’t have any issues.

This place is awesome. If you ever find yourself in the area it is worth a drop-in. I grew up in the area and didn’t know about this place until I was home for the holidays. I was impressed by the selection. Be careful of out dated beers, since they have a big selection, turnover isn’t high.

Nice place that really fills my void of not being able to drive to Capone’s or Pinnochios. Has a nice cooler setup with several aisles of brews seperated in an intelligent way. The service was very kind and the woman behind the register was very kind. I didn’t ask for any help in picking beers but I did overhear the store owner talking about a lot of beer with another client. I definitely felt the knowledge was available. Selection is huge. I picked up a mix six with evil twin, hair of the dog, and more. No food rating. They had hotdogs but I didn’t have one. Prices were a little higher than some other places but the selection made up for it. Tart of Darkness and Oude Tart ran me $23 each.. but I don’t see them anywhere else in the area. I will be back, often.

Located in a strip mall not far from the Albright campus. Most of the store is a bottle shop although there’s also a small area roped off as a bar with 6 taps and a few tables and chairs and pool table (I’m guessing that’s the more part.) without a somewhat dodgy clientele but that part is easily ignored. This is primarily a bottle shop and what a selection they have. Over 1000 bottles by the likes of Mikkeller, evil twin, emelisse, cigar city, lost abbey, port brewing, duck rabbit, dogfish head, nogne o, etc. beers are arranged by nationality with a very large domestic craft scene. Cans are arraigned separately. They also have a 14-16 coolers. This being a college town the BMC was flying off the shelves but the staff asked if I needed any help. The only drawback are the prices. They’re 20-30% higher than you’d see in surrounding states. But they do give a 20% discount for a mix 6 so it mostly evens out. In terms of the sheer quantity of their quality it’s safe to assume this is one of the top beer stores in the region if not the nation.

I remember adding this place a few times here before, but it always got deleted. Not sure why. I haven’t been to Mari’s in a while, since I don’t live in the Reading area any longer. This place is definitely a dive, but the selection is worth the scare of going in. The clientele can be a little shady at times, especially if you stop by in the later hours of the evening. The service is a little inattentive, but then again, I never really needed any help in picking anything out or finding anything.
