Located in a beautiful area above on top of the hill the Mont de Cats. Cosy Inn with the Trappist Mont the Cats on bottle.

Visited 13/VI/2010. A lot of waiters running around for a place that was quite big, but not at all very busy. Had some Hommelbier, as the Mont des Cats trappist beer was non-existent at the time. Friendly staff, they stamped a declaration for me, that I was not in Belgium on Sunday June 13th, so I didnít have to go vote (as we were on holidays in the area).

Very quiet when we were visiting, on a Monday afternoon. The atmosphere was OK though, and it looked like a good meal can be enjoyed (which unfortunately we didnít have the chance to find out as we were a bit in a hurry). The nearby monastery is a beautiful place, and their cheeses are marvelous!

Well, you can drink a Mont des Cats over there. But youíll pay like 5euros voor a 33cl. If you realise that 10k further, youíll have a Westvleteren 12 for 4,7euro... Nevertheless, glad Iíve been there, I enjoyed my Mont des Cats (2 weeks after the beer was released).

Bound to become famous as it is bang opposite the next Trappist brewing abbey. It will need to get its act polished a bit before then though, as it is a bit ísmall towní, not helped by the Chimay-brewed special Mont des Cats beer being, well, in need of some practice. Nice wood-burning stove though and very friendly. One to watch though, so pop in.
