Bar has switched from ABC Stout to Myanmar Black Shield which is not as half as good as the ABC, too bad. Myanmar Lager from tap and bottle, Myanmar Premium from bottle. Prices are very reasonable, food is tasty, try the red pepper pork with some extra fried broccoli. All in all the place lost something with removing ABC from the menu but still a good choice.

Can confirm that this place is still open and still offers the stout on tap (1000 kyat now). Certainly a local beer station as opposed to the tourist focused bar/restaurants on the main stretch of Yone Gyi Street. Of course it’s not a craft beer destination, they don’t exist in Myanmar at the time of writing. It’s just a standard beer station with a touch more than normal. They also have Myanmar on tap/bottle, as well as bottles of black shield stout and Andaman gold. A nice enough beer station and the staff spoke enough English to get by. Didn’t try the food but the locals seemed happy enough. If you’re in the area an fancy something other than lager on draft then pop by but certainly don’t go out of your way.

Inle Lake’s best venue for night time drinking. The place closes at 10 pm, although they won’t be kicking you out, and will let you order a couple of extra rounds. Very friendly atmosphere, the owners are lovely people. Mostly locals hanging out here with the occasional backpacker getting WBW. Food is average in Myanmar standards, although tasty and clean. 600 kyat for Myanmar Lager on draft, 800 kyat for ABC on draft, so prices are very reasonable, also within Myanmar standards. The place to go in Nyaung Shwe.

Nicest bar found during three weeks in Burma. Beerwise the main attraction is locally brewed ABC Stout(8%ABV) on draught which make a nice change from the ubiquitous Myanmar beer. Excellently priced at 80p for half a litre. Food looks good but didn’t try.
