Royal Bar

Not a bad place to visit when stopping in Kandy.

Among the better bars in Sri Lanka. Actually, probably the best for selection as it had all three Lion selections... Food was ok. Ambiance is like old school colonial vibe. Prices ok. Sit on the balcony, it's best. The courtyard is pretty hot and sweaty.

Well, it’s a hotel bar. Selection was limited to Lion Lager and Tiger in can. Nothing else. Go to ’The Pub’ a 5 mins walk away for at least the Lion Stout.

Part of Queens hotel, but located next door via a separate entrance, Pub Royal feels like a nicely worse for ware colonial escape from the busy streets outside. As well as the standard Lion brews you’ll find at least a couple of the less usual Sri Lankan beers. Worth popping in to if you’re in Kandy.
