Visited on 7/24/19. Dark, low ceiling, dive bar type place on two floors., in the heart of West Village. 16 beers on tap, very small bar menu. An enticing neighborhood place, not a craft beer destination, but I still found a couple of new ticks.

Weird... Most people speak of 40 taps, i count 19.nons of them are out of the ordinary . Service is ok. Above average amount of belgians, but only macros. Looks like a UK football bar...

Second to last stop of the night on a long tour of the area around Washington Square. Didn’t realize that this is where the famous Blue Note jazz club is located. Kind of neat, which also describes the layout of this bar. When you enter you can either go up some stairs to one area (didn’t explore this area at all) or down the stairs (Into The Pit!). There isn’t really a ground floor. They’ve got a good number of taps and some decent bottles. This is definitely a bit more quantity over quality oriented but that doesn’t mean you can’t find some good stuff. During my visit I saw what I assume are staples like Dogfish Head, Goose Island, Stone, Lagunitas, Greenpoint, Hoegaarden, and one of the omnipresent cider brands. The bottles included common but good Belgians like Chimay and Delirium as well as some other stuff like Brooklyn and Sixpoint. Over all the place is a popular bar with a large beer selection. Not much else to say about it. Could be a fun place to hang out with friends after work but this was late on a Monday night so things weren’t quite as exciting. Prices were high but not ridiculous and service was adequate.

Been here just the once in March ’11 on a pub crawl having come from Blind Tiger then the Half Pint which is a stones throw away. We went upstairs and were the only people there (3/4pm on a midweek day). Atmosphere flat - so defaults to 3 and service was good as we had our own personal bar tender! Selection was decent enough - no rareties but solid. Not a destination venue but works well enough on a crawl.

This is a great central place to bring a bunch of friends, craft beer lovers or not. It’s pretty much a normal upscale post college bar. It’s big. The prices are reasonable for the area. The selection is basic but broad and with some really good stuff.

Rotating taps are here, but all the beers are pretty run of the mill. The bottle list has some other, weirder stuff, but really not that much of it. There are no descriptions on most of the beer. Happy hour only applies to the most generic offerings on the menu (except for Bronx Pale Ale I suppose). The atmosphere is nice and the staff were pleasant. The prices were not terrible either, especially for the area. Middle of the road.

Former home to a cooperage so it’s got an industrial type feel. 2 floors - upper floor was a bit louder, downstairs smaller and a bit more casual. Open and roomy. Draft list is pretty decent bottle list pretty extensive. Menu wasn’t extensive but the food was pretty good for more than basic eats. I expect this place could get very loud very fast but could be really comfy on a quiet day.

Large place with two separate areas. A very large upstairs bar area and a cozier sort of event space downstairs. Well-chosen beer list, both tap and bottle. Friendly service. When I was in I found a sweet, sweet deal of a bottle of GI Sofie for 8 bucks. It was chill enough when I was in although I suspect it will be home to scenesters once it gets going. A good beer selection, but not really the kind of place I like to hang out in.
