66 I’m really glad that argo0 likes the Argonaut. It’s at the far east end of the H Street Corridor. 30 years from now you might be able to take the streetcar there, for now it’s Uber because taxis usually won’t venture here. It’s a big place with a nice enclosed and heated patio in the winter, and an open air patio in the summer. Draft list has a handful of local and regional craft things. Servers and clientele are equally friendly. Good stop. |
66 I’m not going to tell you how amazing this place it, because it isn’t. All the same, I frequent Argonaut -- it’s a neighborhood institution in the Atlas district of DC, and I’m very happy that it is what it is. They always have a couple of solid beers on tap, occasionally surprising you with great beers. They always have a DC Brau offering among the rotation (usually the Public, occasionally the Corruption). The food ranges from good to great, at least in the pub grub range -- it’s certainly not going to be confused with a food destination. The service is generally good, and it’s a great place to bring the kids. It’s not somewhere to go to find rare beer, but often enough I’m more interested in a place to drink a good beer while keeping the kids happy. |
