I’m really glad that argo0 likes the Argonaut. It’s at the far east end of the H Street Corridor. 30 years from now you might be able to take the streetcar there, for now it’s Uber because taxis usually won’t venture here. It’s a big place with a nice enclosed and heated patio in the winter, and an open air patio in the summer. Draft list has a handful of local and regional craft things. Servers and clientele are equally friendly. Good stop.

I’m not going to tell you how amazing this place it, because it isn’t. All the same, I frequent Argonaut -- it’s a neighborhood institution in the Atlas district of DC, and I’m very happy that it is what it is. They always have a couple of solid beers on tap, occasionally surprising you with great beers. They always have a DC Brau offering among the rotation (usually the Public, occasionally the Corruption). The food ranges from good to great, at least in the pub grub range -- it’s certainly not going to be confused with a food destination. The service is generally good, and it’s a great place to bring the kids. It’s not somewhere to go to find rare beer, but often enough I’m more interested in a place to drink a good beer while keeping the kids happy.
