80 My go too place on the average day. They always have a great selection of beer and whiskey. They are starting to have more tastings also. They do very well at stocking local Wisconsin and Minnesota selections including crowlers from local breweries. They also give veterans a 10% discount with appropriate ID cards. Staff has always been fun and helpful. |
60 Been here many times before. They get some similar things as Casanova but not as much. Recently I’ve been skipping here for DeVine in River Falls. |
64 Visited August 15, 2013 on the way into Minneapolis.
We stopped in mostly as a last chance to pick up the New Glarus that we all wanted. They certainly do have that. When I walked in I saw the giant pile/display on the left, across from the check out counter. Plenty of the fruit beer, some of the Berliner, sour, and all the regular beers. In the back are a couple of aisles of other beer, most of which were new to me but over all kind of uninspiring. The lady at the checkout was not overly friendly but that’s alright. I don’t really plan on stopping in again anyway. |
76 Occassionally you find some limited release beers. Customer service is a hit and miss depending who is working. If you are just looking for some Wisconsin only beers and price is what you are looking for then this is the place. Otherwise, for the size of the store selection is not comparable to Casanova or Devine. |
52 Was looking for some not available beers in Minnesota. Built your own six pack shelve was almost empty. Had good supply of bombers but nothing rare. Lots of standard New Glarus beer. Will try again hoping for better results. |
70 Chicone’s has the best prices in Hudson on craft beer - they are usually a dollar cheaper on 4 packs and single bottles than other stores. They don’t get all of the things that they have at The Nova but they also have some things that The Nova doesn’t get so it goes both ways. I usually end up BSing with the beer guy every time I go there because he’s a nice guy and loves to talk beer. Overall, as others have said one of the two necessary stops for the MN crowd crossing the river. |
72 I’m actually a big fan of this store. The beer guy is great and you can spend time BSing with him any time you want about whatever. They also handle things properly at this store. There is no "reserving" special release beers. It is a first come first served basis like it should be. If you are coming from MN this is one of the big 2 to hit in Hudson. They have all the New Glarus beers and occasionally carry some Three Floyds. |
72 Nice selection for picking up New Glarus and other Wisconsin beers while visiting the Twin Cities. They have a pretty decent selection of single bottles, but I thought Casanovas had a slightly better selection of individual bottles in Hudson |
40 Bad experience had to track a worker down to get some questions answered very snobby and seemed like didn’t want to help me. Good selection of beer for a border store small aisles eh not my fav place at all |
66 This is essentially the younger brother of Casanova’s. Slightly different selection of beer, but not as broad or exciting as the one downtown. |
