60 A traditional and popular brown English pub with a rather large bier garden to the rear. Wooden interiors, bric-a-brac decorations. We came here for food and had some delicious Greek salads. Ten cask ales with well known English ales, like Proper Job, London Pride, Ghost Ship - in fact, all of them known to me. My Fullers London Pride was served in fine condition. Polite service. 62 A really nice and friendly pub. Two pubs in one. Also a fine patio where it is ok to enjoy a beer when the sun shines. Football on tv. Ok for me. Unfortunately not the best beer selection. But I managed to find a couple of ticks. Nice friendly staff. Clean toilets |
64 I should start by saying this isn't really a rating pub. The beer selection is down to national cask brands and macro keg, although I did get a tick with the guest. Having said this, it's a brilliant and welcoming traditional two-bar pub. No music but Sky Sports are playing in both bars. They have a decent selection of gins and a small but eclectic selection of single malts. If in the area it may be worth coming by but can be missed on a ticking tour. |
76 Like DandyLion, I also love this pub. It’s very friendly and pleasant. Beer choice is limited but served in great condition. |
64 I love the Clarendon. There is a cask choice of Doom Bar, Adnams Broadside, Bass, Pedigree and a guest. So not exactly a great selection. Recently the quality of cask beer has increased though as they now have casque mark accreditation. But it's on my way home, the staff are exactly friendly enough (not too overboard) and Doom Bar is fine, yeah? |
