Noliani (1), Little Rock, Arkansas does not count - explanation | | April 19, 2012 If you want the lowest possible price on Bud Light this might not be the store for you. However, if you want the best selection on craft beers in Central Arkansas, this is definitely the store. High end beers are still young so it’s tough to find a ton of knowledge on the subject but Colonial carries everything possible. | | ben4321 (117), Hoboken, New Jersey | | May 23, 2011 [ Updated June 1, 2011 ] My first of what will most likely be many up-coming ratings in the state of Arkansas, this place was pretty solid. I have no ability to compare it to near-by places, but I was able to find some bombers that I hadn’t previously had, and thought they had a pretty decent selection. The make-your-own 6 pack wall was shockingly disappointing, but I walked away with some interesting stuff from the fridge. The staffer I was chatting with didn’t seem to have a clue about beer, but that’s fine. I’ll be back to this place, but that might be more due to its location (and lack of anything else around) than anything else.
Edit: If you had told me 2 months ago I’d be the "mayor" of a store in Arkansas, well.................. | GoNowhere (1), Arkansas does not count - explanation | | April 17, 2011 I was looking at some of the Belgium beers that just came to the state and the manager asked me if I would like to sample. I got to try the Moinette Blond and Saison Dupont. I also got a lesson in Belgian beer that sparked my interest and led to a membership here. I don’t know what the other reviewers are talking about regarding the sales people not knowing about beers because the person I dealt with really knew his suds. | arkansastroy (1), Beebe, Arkansas does not count - explanation | | October 28, 2010 Store employee talked me into a 6 of Kingfisher. Which would have been appropriate if I’d been carrying Bud or coors as the KF would be a step up. I was carrying a bomber of Duvel and a 4 pack od Gunness Foreign Export so he should have known better. | thefederalist (9), Jonesboro, Arkansas does not count - explanation | | May 16, 2010 ...what jcdgoad said - word for word. | jcdgoad (3), Arkansas does not count - explanation | | April 24, 2009 This store has a fine selection of beer. Unfortunately the staff knows very little about beer, and the management seems to care very little about beer. The prices are high. They are usually at least $.50 per six pack higher than other local stores. That being said they have the second best beer selection in the Little Rock area behind only Springhill in North Little Rock. If you don’t want to dive to North Little Rock this is not a bad place to stop. | | handsomejn (31), Arkansas | | January 24, 2009 [ Updated August 14, 2011 ] Understand that Arkansas does not have the pull to get all the great beers that are available elsewhere in the nation, but it is getting much better all the time. That said, Colonial handles almost everything that is available in the state. This is primarily a wine store but they do have a beer expert (or maybe more?). Very nice store visually and lots of registers, so no waiting at the counter. | | Poobah (15), New Orleans, Louisiana | | August 17, 2008 Nice beer selection with many I’m not familiar with, and some I can only find sparingly in Louisiana. Large building with tremendous wine selection. I have not been to other beer retailers in Little Rock, so I can’t guage against other venues properly. However, I will definitely visit this one again. | clasley (5), Arkansas does not count - explanation | | August 9, 2008 Colonial has been a long time quality beer, wine and spirits shop in Little Rock. A recent move and expansion has given them much needed room for growth. Historically their beer selection has been inline with other area providers. To my delight a recent stop showed several new offerings on the shelf - Delirium, Karmeliet, Kasteel, Koningshoeven, North Coast and a few others. A quick conversation with one of the staff indicated one of their distributors had expanded their selection. Good news for Arkansas! |
