It started raining yet again but we decided to sit outside under the canopy. It was early in the afternoon so we were the only ones there. It was nice to be able to drink some kolsch in peace before really getting started on the place/kolsch ticking. Service was more or less nonexistent though when we did see the server she was pleasant. It’s across the square from Pfaffen and Gaffel and any number of cafes that serve other brands of kolsch if this one isn’t your style. The Gilden kolsch isn’t the greatest but it’s not bad.

I also had the same as Theydon Bois. I went there at night and it was busy and I was told it was a private party. I went back the next day in the early afternoon and it was fine. They obviously don’t want the custom!
Th Kolsch was nice and was poured from the keg

Set on the same square as Malzmuhle.
Bouncers on the door which was off putting. They wouldn’t let us in - said there was a private party - total bollocks. Man up and just say it’s busy or you’re not welcome for fucks sake!
Anyhow - beers (sorry - BEER) to rate so they allowed us to sit outside at a table (it wasn’t too cold) and the service was ok.
Just the one beer being their kolsch.
Not impressed by the meatheads - would not go back here and after all - why would I? visited and rated !
Jack - I think there were tables inside, probably occupied by people who weren’t in a private party but I can’t be sure as the twats denied us admission!
