Visited on a trip to Austin - very very cold when I arrived, but things were in full swing in the tasting room. I just missed the last tour, but bellied up to the bar and enjoyed four ounce pours of several of their beers. They also feature a fairly extensive bottle list, their own and others. Service was wonderful, the atmosphere was friendly, and they had some great stuff for sale to-go. It doesnt get much better! Oh, there is no food, but there is this pizza place about 20 yards down the hill that makes some pretty tasty za, and the folks at JK have no problems if you bring them inside.

Stopped by on a Friday. Quite the trek out of town, but worth it. What an absolutely drop dead gorgeous brewery!! Stunningly beautiful, with very friendly and passionate people. Great beers (both house, guest taps, and bottles to go), and the pizza place attached also looks very promising. Beyond all that, the ethos of this place and their drive to improve beer culture and laws in Texas is really special. I’m already looking forward to returning in February!!

Absolutely great place to visit. Fantastic beer served in proper glasses. On a Saturday afternoon the place was packed with people which caused some inconveniences. We had to queue the beers more than 30 minutes but the wait was rewarded. Just amazing beers. 13 brews altogether was available. As all the tables are outside it was quite warm to enjoy the beers. +98°F made it a bit too hot. But still I really recommend a visit to everyone and anyone.

Very enjoyable. (With great exception of the HEAT). Nice spot in hill country. Pleasant people. Presume most if not all Saturdays have bottle shares and though I did not involve myself, it looked pretty involved. Good beers, a few guest taps. Come in cooler weather!

A destination brewery in the making. Located in the beginnings of TX Hill Country, Jester King features the kind of strange natural beauty that makes the West intriguing. People there are great, selection is generally solid and features a few non-JK brews, and pricing is fantastic. While the brewery doesn’t serve food, nearby Stanley’s Farmhouse PIzza cooks a mean pie.
Tips: stand in the true taproom to survive the summer heat. If no space is available inside, sit under a fan in the pavilion for the next coolest spot. If both fail, go to your car and soak up some A/C, cause it’s freaking hot! Also, try to get a tour from Josh to enjoy some great color in describing the brewery’s ways. Finally, make sure you see the barrel room!

A pretty cool ranch like brewery with lots of taps available, both guest and house. There is plenty of outdoor seating and views to be had. I didn’t try it but heard multiple raves about the local pizzeria that had set up shop at the brewery. Service was good, never more than a two or three minute wait at the beer stations. I loved it, like a well developed Hill Farmstead.

Only marking JK down by 2 points because they were not offering growlers yet when I visited, but I am told the pizza joint on site will be selling them starting January 2013 - along with the bottle list they currently offer. The brewery & tasting room are only open to the public on Saturdays between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm - check their website for details. Gorgeous old stone barn brewery/tap room had some of the mainstay brews on draft, and a small tent outdoors poured rare smaller tasters. Country band played most of the afternoon. So glad I got to visit this place. A bit of the French/Belgian countryside in the heart of Texas.
