86 A place trying to keep up with the beer boom. A very good selection. Friendly staff always willing to help. Easy access right off I-40 Good selection my go to place for bottles in Knoxville. |
100 As far as Tennessee beer selection is concerned, McScrooge’s has always been my go to store in town for high grav’s. Over the past year their beer aisle expanded, and just recently they were able to start selling low gravity beer as well. This is excellent news to me! Now they have hundreds of different beers to choose from and I’ve never found craft beer cheaper elsewhere in town.
On an extra side note, they have been able to get some nice craft Kegs for me (at totally reasonable pricing). I would highly suggest them if you live around Knox and need a keg. I just call them ahead of time and they hold it for me until my parties. 10/10 awesome store (and they have a killer scotch selection, which is an added bonus) |
60 Tons of liquor at McScrooges but not much on the beer front. Yes, they had a unique beer selection, including some Belgian beer--though most was sold out. The problem I had is that a majority of the beer was IPA-style. Not my thing. |
90 This place was a really lucky find for me. I was recommended to go to this place because the nice fellow there at Bearden Beer Market mentioned that it is the best place to get high gravity beers in Tennessee. Due to Tennessee law only liquor stores can carry high gravity beers (aka high ABV) and this place does have a really nice selection considering it is also a large liquor store. Very nice place and I am glad I could add it to rate beer for those in Tennessee that still may not know of this place. |
78 Best beer selection in Knoxville, can get a little pricy, as much due to Tennessee laws as anything though. Brent and the staff mostly know their stuff on some of the beers. The wall of scotch constantly tempts me to spend more than I should. |
72 If you are looking for some decent hard to find beers in Knoxville, this is the place. A good selection of De Dolle and several other Belgians. A huge selection of brewdog, dogfish head and j.w. lees beers. I swing by here when I am in Knoxville to see what is new. |
70 Largest selection in Knoxville. Out of some of my favorite hi-gravs but considering distribution situation in Knoxville certainly not their fault. |
54 Not bad, but I’m from Florida. The guy behind the counter recommneded Aiko Pale Lager as his favorite beer. It was disgusting swill, so he lost a LOT of credibility with me. They had almost no DFH in stock on a Saturday night, but lots of Stone, which we do not have in FL (Muchas Gracias). Best one can do with wacky TN liquor laws. |
58 Good selection, probably the best in Knoxville. DFH, De Dolle, Unibroue, Stone, Orkney, and some other bad European stuff. The staff is typical if they see you looking around they will ask if you need help. |
74 Best selection of high gravity beer in Knoxville. Had to alter the score just a tad. Needs more German beer but I understand they can only get in what’s available. Wish they would bring back Brewdog. |
