Mega - Playa del Carmen

Big nice grocery store in a mall, some what hard to miss the outside of this place. However place is up-stairs/up-escalator. Beer selection is somewhat limited, but seems good for the area. Walmart’s beer selection just down the road seemed just as interesting. Aki in between the two seemed the least interesting.

Some cucupa and a few imported Czech beers etc. Not as good in comparison these days as even the Circle K has Cucupa. They shut down sales fairly early as far as I can tell.

Yes its a Mega superstore....but still you are able to get a spattering of micros at a very nice price. Of course you can get your 40s of Mexican macros for even better deals. Decent in a pinch for beers.

It’s been two years since I visited this one, while on my last day in Mexico. I don’t think much things would have been change though. This was basically a huge supermarket or better, megastore, since you could find almost anything, from food to athletic equipment. We visited just to buy some travel snacks but I didn’t miss the chance to visit the beer section, and thankgully so too. Not a great selection, mostly mexican lagers, but there were some beers from Urugay I think, and other south american countries. I grabbed as many as I could considering my suitcase was already full( I remember getting a Zillertal and a Quilmes), and because of that I didn’t buy an american beer which was sold only in six packs, really cheap but I also didn;t have the time to drink it. So, damn, I left it there ( I don’t even remember the name). But yeah, was cheap and you can find quite a few of the mexican beers available in the market/

As the name says, this is a huge grocery store, where you can find anything from milk to ovens. And beer. Not a great assortment, but quite okey if you never tasted Mexican beer before. Or from the American brewery Minhas Craft Brew. in Wisconsin...
