Plain and simple, no frills bar but with a beer list like this who cares what the place looks like. The selection obviously rotates a lot but the staff know their beers and appear not just knowledgable but enthusiastic about their wares. Not the sort of bar for a first date, but excellent for a beer geek!

Fantastic bar for craft beer lovers, and the bonus is that it’s a five minute drive / 30 minute walk from my apartment. 25+ taps that only ever see quality craft beers. If you want a Miller Lite, it’ll be from a bottle here. Excellent, knowledgeable bartenders who are always willing to give you a sample taste of something you’re not sure about. Essentially no ambiance / atmosphere here, which is fine by me. The food, for me, has been mediocre, but I’ve only had it 2 or 3 times.

The draft beer list is strong, with lines primarily consisting of craft beers and imports. The prices can’t be beat, so this is a viable option for beer nerds from the city. The food at this place was outstanding. The fried veggies were coated in a beer batter fried to perfection. This isn’t your standard battered and fried junk that gets all soggy and full of oil. I recommend the fried pickles with the Louisiana remoulade. After the veggies I got my hands on some burgers of the Delaware and Louisiana variety. The beef for each burger was flavored using spices, which was nice since I hate burgers that are over-sauced. Both burgers came on a dynamite pretzel roll.

Brixie’s always has a tremendous selection of diverse styles on tap. If I lived closer, I would come to here on a weekly basis. I miss their old Mac and Cheese balls, but have heard good things about their burgers and plan on trying one some time. All in all, Brixie’s is one of my favorite bars in the Chicago and Milwaukee area.

This is one of the best beer bars in the near west burbs. Great service and an ever changing seasonal selection. Not sure about some claims of "Surly" avaialbe at this location.

Yea this place is a dump, but the beer selection is glorious, the bartenders know their beer, and the prices are really reasonable. Try getting a decent beer anywhere in Chicago for $4 or $5 bucks. They always are running specials, have usually 20+ great finds on tap, 100+ bottles, and now have food (which I have yet to try). My favorite is the Malort shot special that’s been the special for like 5 years - still yet to try. Too many good beers to try. The TVs (or should I say TV) suck, don’t go there to watch sports, but if you had a rough day, need a good beer or two, this place is hard to beat. The crowd is usually locals who prefer crap beer, and then mostly people that need showers that drink real beer. The bands can get pretty loud, they do charge a cover, and they’re usually terrible.

Brixie’s now has food; burgers and other sandwiches and some salads and such. This is a good thing as some ballast is needed when imbibing in the many beers that this establishment offers that are over 7 percent alcohol. It’s 95 percent craft beer here and some hard to find stuff. Think: Bell’s Batch 9000. The bar may seem like a dive (concrete floors, garage-like. stainless steel toilet in the men’s room) but it is a gem. Don’t let any of this frighten you. Please support this bar, especially on Tuesdays, Thursday and Sundays when all craft taps are a dollar off.

You would never believe this place would have a selection like they do. $1 off of craft beers on Thursday and Sunday.

I have been here quite a few times with a friend who lives near by. I have always had excellent service and they have a very good beer selection and prices. Interesting crowd at times. Nice to play some pinball as well.

Total dump with a glorious beer selection which makes it worth the trip. I agree with the other poster...maybe the quality is not always good, but it’s still nice to have the selection. As Palemers is redeemed only by it’s sheer # of beers and sweet beer garden, Brixie’s has a more eclectic blend of draft beers and the bartenders usually know their stuff. If they could add some form of a frozen pizza (how about Home Run Inn’s) to compliment the great beer, this place would be unbeatable.
