80 I true, no frills, beer paradise. Hanger style facility. Little help, but staff is friendly enough. Large selection, singles readily available. All in all, must stop if heading through. |
60 Really good beer section right before you hit CT if you’re headed north. Hundreds of cans and bottles, mostly non-refrigerated. They had some nice French ciders also. Prices are reasonable. Worth a stop if you’re in the area. |
78 Atmosphere A little bit dreary. Jam-packed with rows of beer to choose from. Who cares though? It’s a beer store. Quality Haven’t found an "expired" beer yet, although I haven’t even come close to trying everything there. Haven’t seen any bottles coated in dust. Pretty popular place with a frequent rotation, so the risk of a stale beer is pretty low. Service The guys that work there are bored as hell. They can’t seem to be bothered to even say "hi" to you. When you ask if they have a beer, they’ll mumble and point in the general direction of where it is. This has been my experience; your mileage may vary. Not too important as I typically go to browse and don’t want to be hounded by overzealous sales people. Selection At least two full, double-sided rows of American craft beer and another double-sided row of one-offs and imports (mostly Belgian). Value Seems to be relatively standard. Maybe a bit on the high end but nothing ridiculous. Overall If you live anywhere in south-western Connecticut or lower Westchester this place is a must-try. They’ve got a really great and varied selection. They also regularly update their BeerMenus page (http://www.beermenus.com/places/2177-port-chester-beer-distributor), which is a huge help when trying to figure out where you’re going for your next craft beer! |
86 total dive, but excellent selection. anything is available as a single. some aisles were a bit cramped, but there’s a ton of beer to be found here. |
78 Great, no frills beer store. This place has really grown over the last few years with an excellent selection and the ability to mix and match any twelve ounce bottles. Pricing on the mix and match is not clear since the per bottle prices are not listed. I’ve never talked beer with any of the staff but i have been offered assistance on occasion. Their organization leaves something to be desired since they merely organize by import, domestic and 22oz bottle so finding specific styles can be a challenge. |
96 Best selection around. Now many draft beers in growlers too. |
74 Interesting store with very solid beer selection. Lots of Captain Lawrence, Alesmith, and a ton of regional choices. Prices seem in line for area. Had some brews that were not available at some of the higher rated stores in the area. Worth a stop if in the area. |
90 Really good beer store. Had a nice selection for the size. A good assortment of microbrews and European beers. The manager or owner or whoever I talked to knew a lot about his beers and gave good advice. |
92 Haven’t been here since I was a kid. The selection is overwhelming and worth the trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a special beer or something new this store has more than any store I have found in lower Fairfield and Westchester. |
80 Beer store in Port Chester, NY. I go here weekly to pick up everything and anything beer related. Great selection of beers from all over the world. Check it out. |
