100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 ajkeefner13 (1) Chicago, Illinois | January 15, 2013 Junior and his staff are amazing. I do 99% of my beer shopping here and can always get hard-to-find beers. Junior is so kind and I find myself many times at his store for an hour just talking beer and everyday life. Also, you will NOT find better prices around than his! Proof is his $29.99 Fifty Fifty Eclipse compared to everywhere else it being $35-40 | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 bushmic3 (1) Chicago, Illinois | January 4, 2013 Best beer store in Chicago. The owner, Junior, is a great guy and is very knowledgable about beer. He gets all of the rare beers that come through the city and doesn’t jack up the prices. | 94 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 ferillo (1) Massachusetts | November 7, 2012 I traveled to Chicago from Boston for work and had mapped out places to hit on my free time. It happened to be right around when BCBS was making its way into the market. I hit a few of the bigger name places like West Lakeview, where no one working spoke to me and a few Binny’s who both said that they had BCBS but had not decided when to put it out. Really? So I took a shot and went over to PRFL.
THIS PLACE WAS ALL THAT THE OTHERS WERE NOT.
I was greeted by the owner right away who hooked me up with the BCBS and offered to take me through the shelves and show me some of his favorite locals and regional beers. When I mentioned I was from Boston, I was treated like a long lost son and he actually gave me a couple of locals to try later on back at the hotel.
These guys love their beer, love people who love beer and their town, and care deeply about making sure you leave happy with your visit.
I cannot recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor and check it out if you haven’t before. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 gingerman13 (1) Chicago, Illinois | March 27, 2012 Best beer store in the entire city. | 68 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 16/20 jrallen34 (271) Chicago, Illinois | October 1, 2011 random Puerto Rican store that you would never think would have craft, but they have a ton of it, and they get rare stuff, if the major stores are out of something, check here | 90 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 Busko (10) Chicago, Illinois | August 27, 2011 Owner is cool and prices his beer at the minimum, especially for a mom and pop corner store. They get a lot of good beers here which is rare in Ukrainian Village / Humboldt Park neighborhood. I shop there frequently and Junior will give me a heads up when and what he’ll be getting in, great service there. They supposedly have good homemade pico and guar on Fridays but I’ve never had. |
