84 A nondescript corner market with a vast selection of craft beer. Nice people and always eager to help and look for something in particular. |
56 This place is around the block from me currently. Small selection focused on bombers (its a tiny store) Over priced on most stuff, nice staff. 2.00 King Cobra which is sadly the only malt they stock. It’s useful for finding new-to market limited release beers if you’re into that, they often update their beer menus. Just not my style store. |
100 Great selection, if you don’t see it just ask, he’ll get it. Love this place |
98 Love this place. One of the things I miss most about living in the city. |
92 Fantastic place! very freindly and knowledgable, and cheaper than Binneys. Quite astonishing selection for a small neighbourhood store. Wide range of Pipeworks beers, and generally a wide range of most stuff, even including UK beers you rarely find in bottle shops (JW Lees Harvest Ale, for example) |
100 Junior and his staff are amazing. I do 99% of my beer shopping here and can always get hard-to-find beers. Junior is so kind and I find myself many times at his store for an hour just talking beer and everyday life. Also, you will NOT find better prices around than his! Proof is his $29.99 Fifty Fifty Eclipse compared to everywhere else it being $35-40 |
100 Best beer store in Chicago. The owner, Junior, is a great guy and is very knowledgable about beer. He gets all of the rare beers that come through the city and doesn’t jack up the prices. |
94 I traveled to Chicago from Boston for work and had mapped out places to hit on my free time. It happened to be right around when BCBS was making its way into the market. I hit a few of the bigger name places like West Lakeview, where no one working spoke to me and a few Binny’s who both said that they had BCBS but had not decided when to put it out. Really? So I took a shot and went over to PRFL.
THIS PLACE WAS ALL THAT THE OTHERS WERE NOT.
I was greeted by the owner right away who hooked me up with the BCBS and offered to take me through the shelves and show me some of his favorite locals and regional beers. When I mentioned I was from Boston, I was treated like a long lost son and he actually gave me a couple of locals to try later on back at the hotel.
These guys love their beer, love people who love beer and their town, and care deeply about making sure you leave happy with your visit.
I cannot recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor and check it out if you haven’t before. |
100 Best beer store in the entire city. |
68 random Puerto Rican store that you would never think would have craft, but they have a ton of it, and they get rare stuff, if the major stores are out of something, check here |
