Yuba City's only brewery, which probably keeps them going. I was unimpressed with the flight I had, two being sub-standard, and the other two were passable. I will say that the food looked amazing, which may keep the people coming back. Overall, a quite nice ambience, and located in the heart of downtown (I think?). Plenty of parking. Go for the food, and have a beer with it...

Visited while passing through Yuba City, stopped with the family for dinner and beers. The menu is pretty small, but has some good items… we all found something we liked. I had the Hoffbrau Sandwich and really liked it. Prices are a little steep, both food and beer, but we managed to arrive during happy hour and got beers at half price. Our server made sure to inform me right before happy hour ended so we could order another round at the better price. He provided excellent service the entire time, but half-off beers always stands out. The décor and overall ambiance of the place is great. To better put it in context Yuba City & Marysville is an agriculture community of about 80,000 where craft beer barely exists. What they’ve done at Sutter Buttes has created an oasis for the craft beer drinkers… the locals that frequent the place know it and are proud to support it. I sampled four beers while I was there and had a pint of their flagship Watertower IPA. Beer quality was good, I enjoyed the range of offerings and overall flavor profile of their hoppy beers. California is a big friggin state with lots of great places, but there can be a large distance between them. If you find yourself near Yuba City I would absolutely recommend a stop here.

Small town brewpub with brewing equipment on proud display behind the bar. Smallish dining area makes me wonder how crowded it was before if this is the renovation. Fairly busy on a Friday night, but I got a spot at the bar without trouble. Friendly service, flights of four available. Beer quality was pretty low, unfortunately. I can't see myself returning.

The decor is eclectic rural German with a hand painted floor; well varnished wood; hops in part of the ceiling - varnished in lattice; a very shiny brew kit. Spacious. Nice beers. Very attentive service. Highly recommended.

The difference from opening to today was immense. Food quality is vastly improved. Beer selection remains small but what they do have on tap I always enjoy. Service however is still so so.

Just visited again since their renovation. It has about 66% more dining area. The decore is southern German (tasteful) and the service was great. We had four different beers with Franklin DIPA being the best, but the others were good. The menu looked good but we only had the artichoke dip, which was excellent. -------------------------------------------------(Jan 2013) Stopped in here for lunch with some buddies. It’s a smaller place that was packed with a group of thirty. The ambiance is great with all the beautiful brewing equipment sharing the same room as the pub. The service was good but slow due to the large group. Also two of the three food orders were missed by the kitchen so those came out at the 45-50 min point. However, the management automatically put the food and beers on the house even though we didn’t ask. The fish taco I had was tasty. We tried the Extra Pale Ale, DIPA and Mocha Porter. All of them are good, and I really enjoyed the DIPA. This place is worth a visit if near Yuba City.

I visited this place a couple weeks ago, which was about a week after the opening. It’s still a work in progress. The building is pretty unfinished with a pretty bare-bones ambiance. The one thing that really strikes you is the GORGEOUS brewing equipment and the fact that the beer is served directly out of the brite tanks. They have a couple small details that are really nice, like logos on their taster glasses. The napkins are awesomely folded, too. Unfortunately, the bathroom looks like a gas station bathroom, except cleaner. The menu is very small, but the prices are very reasonable. The staff was good. The beers were all flawed with an acetaldehyde problem, but apparently that was due to the brew equipment having some sort of faulty temperature gauge. I’m going to give this place a few more months. I think it will only improve.
